I am in a little bit over my head working at our two businesses. My house is neglected, my horses need clipping and my truck has never been so dirty in all its life. I was seriously thinking of closing early on Friday and taking the whole weekend off. I was going to take it easy this weekend and kick back and put a couple burgers on the grill and lay around and play catch up on everything in stride.

Ain't happening. Someone (me) didn't think to check the calender and scheduled clients for Saturday. Then love child has informed us he invited a "few" buddies over for a cook out. Last count, 12. Since I'm going to be running ragged now making potatoe salad, macaroni salad, deviled eggs, deserts and who knows what else, I volunteered him for helping with the house cleaning and getting the yard decorated. Hey, what's fair is fair! I'm all about having his friends over with the boom boom box blasting and the whole nine yards so it will be fun.

So whatchadointhisweekend?

Hope it will be fun!

My grandpa turned 92 today so we're having a party for him on Monday.Alot of family is coming so I'll be tidying things up because everyone has to see all the horses while they're here.We will be baling hay on Saturday.I have a few little projects i'd like to get done, hang a gate, finish putting the steel on the chicken house, clean gutters etc. Hopefully relax somewhere in between, lol. Have a great weekend everybody!!!!!!

Tomorrow is the last day of school so we'll finish up the last few academic things, practice for awards/graduation night, and have a barbecue out at a park. Then I am going with my aunt to visit some friends who work at a camp in the afternoon. Saturday I am helping with a car wash which is a fundraiser for a trip I'm going on to a youth convention. Sunday I'll have church and such. Monday I was hoping to have at home to relax and/or get some things done here, but then I found out report cards have to be completed and turned in Tuesday morning. So, looks like I'll be working on those on Monday. Oh, I also need to squeeze in a trip to get hay sometime too. Fun, fun.

We're going camping! We always meet my husband's extended family at a state park and camp Memorial Day weekend. So much fun! The weather is supposed to be gorgeous here, so I am very excited!

And then when we get back, only one week of school left!

Mostly trying to stay dry. Its been raining off and on for 3 weeks, with hardly a day or two of clear weather, so everything is a wet, sloppy muddy mess. I have some things to do inside, so I'll be getting them done while its crappy outside.

Going to look at some Wauk-A-Way shetlands down at a friends farm in Wellington on Saturday...

Apart from that enjoying the weather, hopefully tanning and my same rutine at the barn ...

Im on hardcore marestare right now...hope that Seq foals before I leave in the morning, but of course as soon as I get 50 miles from home she will decide that is the perfect moment to get the show on the road..

Hoping I go into labor. Im not actually due for another two weeks, but have been having a lot of early labor signs. I know it sounds greedy, but im hoping the baby comes sooner than later. My doctors said im considered full term now, and Im measuring ahead. My sister is 23 and scheduled for a mastectomy the day before my due date, and the entire family is fretting over what to do if shes in the hospital in Pittsburgh and I go into labor right on schedule at a hospital about 2 hours away. Id love for my sister to be able to hold the baby when hes born, something she wont be able to do for a while after her surgery.

LOL Great answer..."hoping to go into labor" lol Good luck!

Friday, I am taking a day off after working like a beast all week, I'm trying to cram as many shifts as I can pick up in before we leave for our first show. I've been on 6 days straight and I'm beat.

Saturday, I am doing some shopping for the show and working that night.

Sunday, I am having a meeting with a performer in regards to choreographing an upcoming contest piece for her and working that night.

Monday, we are getting the family together, which could be scary. We've been married for 12 years and this will be the first time that my Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins get to meet my inlaws. I took the night off from work (which I shouldn't have done because I'd love to have those hours in for the show). Monday will be especially tough as we are organizing the get together at 2 and I have to have been out and wrapped up Shake's workout and schooling before I go to the lake and get set up.

I will be holding down the fort. My daughter is going to Eugene to show our gelding there for the weekend. I need to get hay and supplies.

Took our old aussie/newfoundland mix to the vet yesterday. He is about 13 years old. The vet found a tumor growing on her jawbone and it is growing very quickly. So we may have to say goodye to Scout soon. We are all sad. He is family.

I have been thinking of getting a mini aussie puppy for over two years and I think I have picked one out. But it feels funny to be happy and sad at the same time.

Started a painting after taking a couple weeks off. We are jetting down to Sea Side today to find a motel that takes old chihuahuas and families. We are planning a real family vacation for the first time in many years. Should be a blast. Love the horses, but it does make it hard to get away!!!!

Saturday we are going to be bathing, clipping, & trimming feet on our little herd.

Sunday finishing what we didn't get done Saturday. Then that evening we are having some people & there little grandson come out for a farm visit to see the herd.

Monday hoping to take it easy, grill some turkey burgers & enjoy a good cold watermelon.

MARTY === Your plan with your Dan sounds VERY fair to me! You cook and HE cleans! LOL!

mydaddysjag == For your unborn child's sake, I hope "shim" holds off popping onto Earth this weekend.

Our youngest has a May 30th birthday and she hates it........ She's turning 13, so it's not quite the same anymore, but when she was younger and wanted a group birthday party? We had to plan a different weekend because families were always going on vacation!

OUR weekend is actually rather quiet. May 30th we are taking our NEW TEENAGER out for her requested steamed clam dinner....and that's about it.

This is our last busy week end for our season so we will be catering several parties on Monday. but Sat and Sunday will be spent getting the barn ready for a secret newcomer

funny, I said about going into labor this weekend, and my husbands best friends wife went into labor around 2am in the morning. We're waiting in labor and delivery, but not for me today lol

well, it's just a 'regular' weekend here, our long weekend was last weekend (not that it matters in my 'world' where weekends come and go like any other day
default_rolleyes.gif
)

Had a fan-tabulus ride on my new horse yesterday morning (early, early, since it is friggin hot here right now...not that I'm complaining
default_shutup.gif
). Wish I had that video taped!

Tried to get run away with a couple of times this morning when he decided we had done enough already

...poor guy's learning I won't let him get away with that....

Spent the afternoon at the Ontario Regional trials for Agility (not competing...I'm not an agility person), and got what I hope is a couple of good contacts for business!!!

Helped get the pool ready to set up when I got back....I hate doing that

Tomorrow (and the rest of the week), cleaning all the 'stuff' (tack, blankets, etc, etc) out of the horse barn before the new owners take possession....

I think I am going to take the prize for the "most unfun" holiday weekend..... I am priming & painting the bedroom....yuck.

My hubby left early this morning to help his parents with a Volksmarch and then he is off on a motorcycle trip for a week....seems a little unfair, but then again, I am not sure he and I are very good at doing tasks together...haha. I think the only man that I can work with easily is my Dad.

Did I mention that I think wallpaper should be banned? That stuff totally sucks to take off........ I have the rest of the trim gunk to get off...but have 2 1/2 walls primed.......and after several trips the home improvement store, I think I might have the "correct" color choice........ who ever thought picking out paint could be so hard?....oi vey.

I hope those of you that are celebrating this weekend will think of me painting & sweating.....and have an extra hot dog, hamburger or a coke for me ok?

Happy Memorial Day Everyone......this weekend makes me miss my Mom, Aunt and my Grandma.......and all those in the family we have lost....... bittersweet weekend,.....tell your loved ones you love them!

No vacation here! When is there ever one???

Busy bathing and clipping horses for a pro photo shoot next week. Client horses and my personal ones. Amazing what's under the hair of these dirty, hairy pasture ornaments!

I'm hoping to find time to throw some hamburgers on the grill. Nothing I like better than charcoaled hamburgers on a summer night!

Mowing, mowing and mowing some more...what fun...

Also getting my fillies ready for the same photo shoot Becky mentioned. One has already been clipped, but should be "cleaned up" some. And the other, my tiny Touch, has never been clipped yet.

Art and I are hanging out at the house. Had some family over for a BBQ. Keeping Cubby till Tuesday morning. Today we are clipping our Coyote. She has way too much fur, and it is already in the 90"s. All the horses have shed out on their own (YEAH!) They just need their forelocks and manes clipped up. Next week we are up to our eyeballs in Dr appts, getting ready for June 11 surgery. So we have really enjoyed this long weekend...Thats it for us..... Hope everyone has a safe and fun Memorial Day!
