I have to start off and say I just can't wait for this foal. I have been dreaming about it for the last couple of nights. LOL. This foal is going to mean a LOT. Bahama lost her first foal last yr about 2 months early so this baby is very important to me. She is due April 10th so that makes her about 321 days today. Since she was in foal last yr. I am not sure she is considered a maiden but she never had a bag or anything. These are pics taken today (not very good as my phone sucks taken pics). She has started to get a little soft in the butt but its not quite there yet. A couple of days ago I seen the baby kicking at the bottom of her belly instead of the sides and didnt see any movement today.

So how much longer do you think she has?

Thanks,

Alisha

Well if she is a maiden...who knows! lol my maiden had less of a bag than yours does and I checked her morning and night and all of a sudden her bag was full one night so I checked on her every couple of hours and she had a baby that night but we have had some that dont do anything by the book and ones that follow it to the last little detail. It all depends on how long the baby cooks and on the mare with how she will try to trick you each year

. Hope this helps but doubt it lol, I would just watch her closely now to be safe!

Shes been Ving since last week. I did feel that baby today. He was just kicking and moving around the udder/flank area. I think hes getting into place.. We have been keeping an eye on her big time. I have her under camera now. Im so excited! Is it possible for me to not get any fluid from her till she foals? Or do maidens still get fluid even if their bags dont get that big? I figure she will go next weekend when I'm going to be busy. LOL

Thanks,

Alisha

My maiden mare has milk and her bag seems smaller than your mares. I think mine is getting real close. Good luck! I hope you get the baby you have dreamed of. You keep saying "he", does that mean you want a colt?

LOL. I really dont care as long as its healthy but that said.. I want my buckskin colt. I have a feeling either way "it" will be a keeper.. This baby means so much to me because she lost her first one last yr. I tried getting milk today and her udder is bigger today then yesterday but I cant get any.. I just dont think im good a milking. LOL Ill try again tonight
