I'm looking for a wireless camera system that will work with more than 300' feet distance between camera and receiver and also not a direct line of site between them. Also one that will work in a metal barn.

I tried one from Radio Shack last year, and it barely worked-picture had lines going thru and was off and on fuzzy most of the time. Now I'm looking for a more permanent system and would love to go wireless if possible. Am I wishing for the impossible??

Any ideas??

The one I have I got from Radio Shack...$130.00 It is in a metal barn it is wireless. my house is appro. 335 ft away. It works great!!! It has sound and is color...Sorry you had trouble with yours.... Maybe it is the location you have it in your house???? Try to move it to another location....

I got mine from this place, I also have a metal barn and I got a good color picture with my wireless. They are very good to help you when you describe what your set up is. They even called me when I was having problems setting it all up when I had emailed with questions.

Good Luck.

I got a site from Jackie at Emerald Glen Farm up here in Wisconsin (she's bred and will be breeding again the mare that is on the grey thread). She uses it and her barn has to be more than 500 ft. Barn Cams

I have a wireless Barn Cam model. It does an okay job but the transmitter/receiver have to be pointed at each other....will "go through" some obstacles but definately have to play with positioning to get the best picture. I think they're on the expensive side......but if you can't hard-wire is definately better than nothing!

We have the Radio Shack cameras too...but since we have a metal barn we were told we needed the cameras with the cable so we went with the cables, the cameras are super clear and work great.

rokin r,

is your transmitter and receiver in the window?

And do you know the brand of it?

No they are on top of my tv...... :bgrin Not sure of what model it is, I am at work so when I get home it will post it here.....I also got one at Walmart with sound and color...119.00 works just as good.....I use one in the mare barn and one in the stud barn....The barns are about 400 ft apart, so the transmitters don't interfer with each other.

We have a wood barn and an aluminum sided house about 65 feet away. The system we tried from Radio Shack would not work but we bought systems from Sears and have not had trouble with them. We were told at the time that many systems would not work if one building or the other was aluminum. I use them for illness as well at foaling time.
