Holy sheep this horse gave me goose bumps and tears in my eyes she performed SO well !!! :new_shocked:

I've never seen anything like this before... it's a dressage horse and she's got one of the most amazing routines... it's really neat.

The last part just dropped my jaw and I sat there saying "Holy crap" .... "Dang" ..."WOW".... and tears were in my eyes it was so amazing to see that kind of dedication between horse and rider... just awesome.

Check it out ...

I'm on dial-up so don't wish to download, but... Is it the grey mare? My MIL showed me a YouTube video of a grey mare doing an awesome dressage test.

Chanda, yes it is a grey mare that I have seen on YouTube also (this video actually is on YouTube once you open the link)....It's an awesome performance!! :aktion033:

I watched the video link you provided last night, but couldn't respond at that time. I was in awe, watching those two work together! WOW, that horse is amazing! You got to watch this in person? I would have been totally mezmerized. I don't want to sound dumb, and I apologize if I do, but what kind of horse is that? My daughter and I watched that video over and over. :~)

Don't honestly know, but I'm going to guess she's a Warmblood, which variety, I don't know.

[i think the team is Swiss, but I could be miss identifying the flag; red with white cross.]

Blue Hors Matine is a Danish Warmblood mare. Her rider is Andreas Helgstrand (DEN).

I bought the DVD for because of this horse's performance. But, after seeing the DVD (played on a 60 inch tv)and the winning horse, I changed my mind as to which one I thought was better. Don't get me wrong, this mare, Blue Hors Matine is INCREDIBLE, and is going to be a huge success, but because of her tail wringing, the picture wasn't nearly as lovely as the first placed horse, Salinero ridden by Anky van Grunsven (NED), was. I will say that if Andreas Helgstrand can get the mare to stop with the tail wringing, then I think this mare has Salinero, beat hands down. I was awestruck by the movement and freedom of shoulder that this mare shows.

Laughs... These two horses and ridders, and the prep that went into timing the movements to the music had all the others on the DVD looking like they were outclassed. Now don't get me wrong, the other riders are good, in fact very very good, but Blue Hors Matine and Salinero are just so much better that they are in a class of there own. (Of course I suspect the riders are as well!)

And yes, It moved me! I don't by horse DVD's very often but did just because of Blue Hors Matine, and then I had to find someone with a large screen tv so I could see it close up and personal

The first time I watched this the tail switching told me she was "happier" when she was MOVING.

I wonder how old this horse is?

Perhaps the rider was cueing her harder than normal "because of his stress" which aggravated her. You really noticed it during her lead changes, like hey buddy I heard you already.

Here is the link to the dvd that I purchased.

It wasn't super quick getting to me, but I did get it eventually. I think I had to wait around 4 weeks or so. I know I was getting impatient, but I have ordered from them before and knew that it would be worth the wait.

The title is "FEI World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006 Dressage Individual DVD (2 disc set). It has the individual dressage on the first disk, and on the second disk is the Kür which is what the video in this post is showing.

The announcer says the mare is 9 years old. It just baffles me that this mare could do this.... how in the world does a person induce the feet to even move that way, let alone to keep them moving that way? It just amazes me.

Well I watched an must say the tail was wringing a bit much for my taste. Also the mare was a bit "noodly". The rider is well known and is phenomenal....but I have seen better rides. I love dressage but the horse should be happy not wringing the tail in annoyance.

Just my opinion of course
