Wow, It never ceases to amaze me all the new things she does. How much she tries to show and convince me she is Miss. Independent and can do it herself. But of course she wants Mommy there to watch her and talk to her lol. She is so goofy. For the most part she does most things on her own. She is use to having food she can access if she is hungry throughout the day. Then at dinner she eats like a big girl at her own table. There is a restaurant we go\to regularly to eat. I know the workers by name and have become friendly with them as they have with her. They love her and have gotten to see her grow just as well. She knows where the high chair is and gets it all by herself. She is odd about talking now though. She says some things once and thats it. She rambles to herself most of the time singing and playing but to everyone else she is quiet. She does have her favorite words though and has a noticeable vast knowledge and understanding of what goes on around her. She is just being picky about saying words right. She already loves animals and horses and cats seem to be her favorites. She calls all animals kitty kat though and refuses to say otherwise or even acknowledge it at this point. She will be two in a few days and boy has the time flied. It took two years to watch her unfold and learn new things. To go from being helpless to twirling, dancing, singing and running. From her little muffled I don't wanna to but am some cries to saying things adamantly. She learns things each day and surprises me by what she does. Instead of showing me she is trying to learn something she watches and waits. Gets a good understanding as much as she can as to what she is suppose to do or how something is done. Then she decides to try it.
For the longest she has shown she wanted to be potty trained. She went from going in her diaper to not wanting them on. Though she didn't want to use her potty she was scared. Then she got to where she would bring us diapers when she needed changed and we didn't catch it. To not wanting her diaper off at all. I couldn't figure it out, she would just fight and fuss. Told me no she didn't want changed. So I left her alone for the longest. Offered for her to use her potty and she refused. Tonight was a break through I think though. She took her diaper off and showed a lot more interest in the potty then she ever has. It was a bit aggravating though lol. It was late and I was tired and ready to get her situated for bed. She played with her potty and the big potty some. I told her to go potty and talked with her. She spent a while playing and goofing off. When I realized she wasn't scared of the idea itself was just uncertain I pushed her a little more. I didn't physically touch her just pushed her some verbally. I told her if she wasn't going to go potty she needed to go get a diaper. She said no and went back to playing. Alright fine, a little time passes by and I get a bit frustrated I do need sleep after all. So I start pushing more and she get to where she is saying nah nah nah. Obviously getting uncomfortable so I push her even more. Finally she sits down on her potty and doesn't play. She starts rubbing her belly and getting edgy and I talk to her and tell her she is doing okay, she is being good to go potty. She went! Not just the little I was expected but she let loose. I told her she was a good girl and clapped. I think I saw that light bulb kick on. She was so proud of herself and seemed to really get it that time. We have been through the same thing a few times before but only happened once and then no interest for the longest. Then some interest again but still nothing strong. Today I think she got it though. So here is to a hopeful official start of potty training. Oh lovely. More joys, tribulations and triumphs to come. It is only getting better and better.
Here is a pic of the sweet thing. She went to sleep on the couch with “her”,(my first “child” whom I raised from a kitten, who is 12 now) kitty. They love each other but she sometimes hurts him because of his arthritis but he knows she isn't trying to. Picture was taking a few nights ago.
