Chuckle for the day.....maybe the week!

Yesterday, Bill and I were enlarging the gelding paddock, which necessitated putting the 5 boys in the round pen. In the round pen are 4 cavalletti I use for jumping and adding extra work for lazy boys when round penning. These were stacked in the middle. I store my lunge whip inside one of...

Have you ever added an awning to your trailer?

I added an awning to my trailer a few years ago and LOVE it! It runs the entire length of the tack room door side, rolls up nicely, and does well in light winds. I don't know of any awnings that tolerate good strong wind. I can raise and lower it to prevent midday sun from getting in. Mine...

Your experience (if any) with slow hay feeders?

I've used the Busy Snackers for 3-4 years now and do love them but after reading this I think we could ask the company to change something....Ideally, our horses should be eating with their heads down for a number of reasons, and the snackers can't do that because our brilliant minis would just...

Can we see pictures of your barns and stalls

Our barn does have the venting system where there are two BIG fans in the top of the barn. One blows in and the other out. They are set to temps, so only turn on if the temp goes up to where we have them set. This and a stand fan in the isle keeps the barn circulating and cool all Summer. We...

What do you miss from the "big horse world"

I too, miss my individual dressage mares, and the BIG whinnys I got every morning when I opened the door to feed.....Daphne used to climb into EVERYTHING ( wheelbarrows, manure trailer, any empty horse trailer.......and she could, in all her 17 hand glory, squat down and go under her chain stall...

    Young BOYS

I have a 10 month old colt who is turned out with the only other baby I had last year, a filly. He has been climbing on things since he was teenie weenie ( he was in a candid in the AMHA World sleeping on a big blue ball, last Summer ). He continues to climb on anything and everything...

    Newbie needs driving whip information

Always TRY to buy a whip with a black handle and black lash. From the judges point of view, they can notice a white handle being used much more easily than a black one. You want to be noticed for the horse, not the whip you are using.

    My Hyperbike is HERE!!!

5'4" does the same for getting in and out.......That part is the most inconvienience you'll experience....once your in, it's like "Butta". former post- weanling that lost a hoof

Bonnie, We used SuperFast to glue our Prince Filly, Fling's, Miracle Shoes on her front feet when she was a baby. It worked very well and it's speed of hardening depends on the mixture ratio the farrier uses.....I still have those shoes above the stall she was in.....SO sweet!

Anyone have experience with heated water hoses?

I put mine away for the Summer...at that price I treat it like gold! I didn't notice the water being "Heated" only that it didn't freeze.....but I could be wrong.......It was warm enough to keep IT clear of ice AND the spigot too. dru with bad hands
