I was planning on it the next farm call, was just wondering if anyone already did both and had already checked in to it and knew if a vitamen was enough. Our area is definatly deficient.

Interested in seeing what kind of feed your bred mares are on. How many feed a vitamen with what other kind of feed? Currently feeding Farnam Mare Plus. Also wondering, this area is very selenium deficient and would a regular vitamen suppliment be enough or should I add a selenium supplement too?

its brand new and he is, as far as I can tell, rubbing it and getting velcro fasteners on fence and pulling it off. I am sure it is snug enough, guess if he doesnt want it on that bad, I will just not use it. Thanks so much for input.

How tight do you guys wrap a leave on neck sweat and how long before you see results. Daughters gelding keeps getting his off.

Just keep fans indside, thats usually is enough. If they look really miserable hose their legs down. I dont do the whole horse up here because it really draws the horse flies to them when their wet. Makes them even more miserable. You know how they are, I"m sure. I go out and check everyone...

What kind of feed do they recieve when they are on thyro-l or meds for hypothyroidism and do they tend to go over? A few of you have been on here and foaled them out no problems and I am just curious about their feed. Doing alot of studying now on this subject and just woud like some input.

Some things I"ve read think there could be an association between dystocia and hypothyroid mares when not treated and think the possiby higher. They also will carry(sometimes) alot longer than most mares without this.

I totally agree with you. In the large horses, around here a gelding is higher than everything eles. My boys leave here gelded and if I dont get close to what I am asking, I sit on them until I find them a good home and dont give them away. I have lots of kids around that would love to show...
