My little Pony has come a long way!

I agree with your pony, balloons are the devil. Although the foil ones are ok. It's the latex ones that will cause the end of humanity... at least that's my phobia.

Oh! I'm glad to hear Billy is improving! And yes, exercise will help with weight management.

    Driving Discussion 2024

I drove Falcor last night. I've bought 2 new bits to try on him. My very experienced driving friend suggested I try a mullen mouth rather than a broken (been using a French-link butterfly) mouthpiece on him. I ordered a liverpool and a half cheek. Started with the liverpool. It almost feels...

Drove Falcor for 45 minutes last night. Poor dude hadn't been out for 2 weeks! Bad mom!

    Driving Discussion 2024

Nothing. I have not driven in over a week, I think! I had such a busy weekend. Friday, we did a parade with our littles for the county. Sunday I ran the horse show. It was great although the weekend was so busy for horse people all over the province. There were 2 other open shows the same...

    Best time to clip

Mine are already starting to look like yaks too! I keep telling them, it's only August, but they know better... I won't clip them until April. We're in Canada. Winter can be really harsh at times. I blanket when I need to. Otherwise, they're well sheltered and need that coat.

    Billy

We've just had 2 in the neighborhood come up with hoof abscesses in the last 2 days. One in the front, another in the rear. It comes on as sudden and rapidly progressing lameness. Usually abscesses will burst through the coronet band, the point of least resistance. As @Abby P said, pretty...

    How's the Weather ?

We have had some @Marsha Cassada but it's fairly dry right now. There's rain in the forecast though.

    How's the Weather ?

Yesterday was heavy smoke; this morning thick fog - probably mixed with smoke... Ah, I love it here. Always something new.

    How's the Weather ?

This morning I have a power outage. haha!!! It should be back on in an hour, but I'm hot spotting off my cell phone and running my laptop on battery power in the meantime. Guess that's one I haven't had yet this year. Big thunderstorm rolled over earlier.

Absolutely wonderful! I taught equine first aid for years. One of our programs was for disaster preparedness. Having identification for your animals was something we strongly encouraged. This would be a fantastic option.

    Flies

I'm not sure what the tiny flies are called around here. We had horseflies this year, bad! But now it's iddy biddy flies. I don't think they're sand flies - we don't have sandy soil. They bite on the belly where the horses can't reach. I could spend all day scratching belly buttons and...

Phillippe went out for an hour and a half last night! Ricco ponied behind again. Had to stop twice to visit with neighbors, but they drive was lovely.

    Billy

He's so lucky to be in your home with care and maintenance! I'm glad you're doing the equiox and adequan. I bought a Bemer set for my horses - Falcor and my daughter's mare Special, who has some arthritic changes in her front fetlocks. It doesn't seem to slow her down (she's only 16) but we...

    How's the Weather ?

Well, we've gone from wildfire to golf-ball-sized hail. 1/3 of Jasper townsite is burned. A lot of damage to the national park. Then hail that caused some damage to the farm - siding on my tack shed, dents in vehicles and trailers, and a broken window. And now there's flooding on Calgary...
