    how far

Mine does it too. The only thing I can think of is: rein pressure (make sure you're not accidently putting more pressure on your strong side), wanting to be in the middle of the road if driving on a real road( painted lines, ditches) or inexperience(you and her). Hope you can work it out!

    Ulcer prevention, ranitidine

For those that give their minis ranitidine for ulcer prevention, what is the dose? I forgot how much I gave of the 150mg tabs. I know it was 2X a day, but one or two tabs? I need to put Lexy back on bute for a couple of days for sore feet/laminitis and need the ulcer prevention. She weighs...

    Harness Pads

As far as I know, they are not required for showing. In fact I think most "showers" do without them. Showing is usually on level ground, they don't even use breeching. If you want to get them for pleasure/trail driving, check out Star Lake tack.

    What's for Christmas dinner?

A la "Christmas Story", We usually go to a Chinese buffet restaurant. (no duck!) Or we go to the movies and eat popcorn. They are the only things open on Christmas day! We do/did the family thing on Xmas eve at the BILs house. Same menu as Thanksgiving but with a ham added.

    Tail care in the winter

Have the same problem, I've tried almost everything. (Tail wraps/socks still got wet then froze, braids still got wet then froze, and are hard to brush out) What I tried last year seems to work the best. Slather the tail with coconut oil or afro-am hair product. Twist and tie in one big...

Very nice! I have made ornaments, mostly when I was young and had fingers that worked.

    Is Baby too Fat?

It's really hard to tell from pics when they have their winter fuzzies. You just have to feel them and go with your gut. Can you feel Babys ribs? ( I don't think any of mine even have ribs ;-) Is her crest hard and full? Does she have fat pads behind her elbows, shoulders, tail head? Lexy...

    Funny Story

Your going to need about 7 more pairs of glasses. Good thing the Dollar store carries them and I don't care about fashion. I've got them in every room, in the barn, garage, my purse and car.

So how has everybody been? Are you all ready for Christmas??

I'm ready as I'll ever be. LOL! Got our holiday decs up just after Thanksgiving. We do have a tree this year, first time in about 20 years! It was left by the previous owners when we moved in. It's pretty cool about 7 ft tall, prelit but real skinny, looks like a real tree, bark & all! We...

    Secret Santa GOT GIFT THREAD!

Woo! Hoo! I got mine today from Sheri Hill! No waiting to open here! Thank You Sheri, it's all perfect! Sheri gave me a wonderful hoodie from Oregon, in a color I don't have! (it fits fine Sheri, I usually have to roll up the sleeves anyway) AND a great travel mug she embellished herself...

    alien chicken egg!!!!!!!!!

My 2 silkie/mix hens have laid some pretty small, round eggs. Never any colored ones though! They haven't done it in a while, I think you get the small odd ones when they are just starting to lay. I usually "blow" them out and keep for giggles. Most have had some yolk in them. I wonder if...

    new to the forum

Welcome from Kentucky! You could shave off some mane from the underside, especially if it's very thick and heavy. It'll grow back if that wasn't the problem. LOL! Or you could wait to see if more weight and conditioning will help her neck fill in, that might help the crest/mane stand up...

How many use heated water buckets??

I've used them for years and never had a problem. My horses don't mess with the cords. Even when empty they haven't burned down the barn. The only thing you have to "worry" about is if the horses quit drinking out of them, check the water with your fingers once and a while to see if they get...

    Weight Loss Woes

You could try switching them over to some senior feed. It's easier to digest, not grain based, has beet pulp and has more fat content. It won't hurt the foal to have it either. That would probably be the easiest way, other wise adding a fat supplement, oil, BOSS, flax, rice bran, etc. and...

    keeping hawks away from chickens

I keep mine in a run or when let out in a yard next to the house with plenty of cover like bushes they can get under. I only have 2 hens tho. We have a red hawk near us and if I hear it I'll go and check on mine. They usually take cover when he's around. You might check out...
