    Webcam mare - 352 days & waiting!

Yes, Prissy is fairly active... she's also got a (great!) high tail carriage that, combined with the braiding I do, makes her tail look like it's up all the time!

    Goatie Triplets!

Too adorable! My goat was ultrasounded with triplets (due April 22) but they won't be that cute - she's a Saanen, and the kids are going back to the breeder. Deenie thinks I'm her daughter anyway, and I'll be milking her. I'm pretty sure it'll be harder for me to give up the babies than it...

    Webcam mare - 352 days & waiting!

Hey, Heather - Katie's dam is Sonoita Tender Too Kiss...

    Webcam mare - 352 days & waiting!

Where are we now - 355? I'm losing track! Keliah is so huge she will hardly move even if I try and chase her in the roundpen. Her bag is ginormous and she has alot of edema on her midline. Not much in the way of liquid being able to express, though. Could be a few minutes or a few days -...

    Webcam mare - 352 days & waiting!

KpM Barncam Keliah is a client's mare (I own a granddaughter of hers!) and she's at 352 days today... bred one day last year to a black pinto stallion.

    Needle Felting

I've done quite a bit and love it - had to stop due to Carpal tunnel, but now that I've had my surgery I hope to get back to it! (I've been able to start painting model horses again! yaay!)

    BioPryn Pregnancy Blood Test

To resurrect this thread to biopryn to try it out this year - mainly my tiny mares that we get nervous about doing rectals on. My vet knows I can pull blood, so she just supplied me with the right kind of vacutubes so that I could do it myself. Then I read that centrifuged samples are better...

    Foals

My list of who was bred is here: Barncam lineup Plus I should have some outside mares coming in as well. Also another Arab mare (outside) is bred and foaling here, but she's not due till July or August and I can't think that far ahead yet! All fillys please! And all spotted! (as long as I'm...

Our barncam is back online for the year!

We put these up ourselves - the program hubby uses lets our Mac friends see the cams, as well as on most mobile devices, including my iPhone, so I can check on things when I run errands!

Our barncam is back online for the year!

The "bag"age has begun - first up looks to be Prissy and Spaarkle. Spaarkle is my 7/8 Arabian Champagne mare... this will be her first foal. Prissy is "Lotta Dots Prissy Britches" (not my fault!) and this is her first foal for us. She's just getting over a spider bite that had her whole head...

    PonyLand game on Facebook!

Does anyone else play PonyLand? Its a silly little game with bad english, but cute little ponies that you can breed and feed and dress up.... I like it, the crops never wilt and the ponies never die - although you have to heal them with an "injection" if they've gone without food too long...

Cleaning up a neglected horse in the winter...

No problem - and in the line of "embarrassing human products to buy in bulk for horse-use"... Preparation H works great on wounds, and monistat works good on fungus... buy those along with desitin and enemas (for foals) and dare the checkout clerk to look you in the eye!

Cleaning up a neglected horse in the winter...

The skin nasties around here seem to have more to do with dirt and junk keeping the skin from drying - a good bath and blow out would probably do more than clipping and blanketing - IMHO, blankets here in SoCal tend to keep the horses a little too warm, so she's likely to sweat, in a stall, even...

Poor lil' Jasper finally has photos!

Jasper was born when I was SOOO DONE with foaling, and suffering more problems holding a camera with my carpal tunnel, so he just didn't get much in the way of photographs... but now post surgery, I was able to give him a quickie clip and take some pictures of him and his half sister Pansy...

    Wild Stallions

Just for those who think stallions never get along - here is a picture of what happened when I put 5 year old Buzz (Black Snowcap Tobiano/Splash) back into the stallion corral with 11 year old Appy (Silver Bay Appaloosa) after a month of Buzz being in the barn. Both these guys had their own...

    A drawing I did today...

Yes, I'm pretty jazzed about the whole thing!

    A drawing I did today...

I've been doing some drawing or art every day now that my hand doesn't go numb within seconds! I thought this one came out pretty good - its pastels on colored paper, drawn from a photo of one of our silver bay foals. I'm improving, I think!

    What kind of pattern?

Her colt is by Woodstock North's Who's Appy now and his dam is out of a mare with characteristics but no pattern.

    How to clean Jerald cart

I keep pledge wipes in my horse trailer to clean the carts at shows... you could use pretty much any gentle cleaning product on the patent, any wood cleaner on the wood - murphy's oil soap is a good wood/leather cleaner.
