Comfy Fit Harness & Myler Bits

I did use breast collars, I had the deluxe comfyfit/freedom collar, I think that collar is so well designed for the little guys whose necks tie in low, but I still have ended up preferring the neck collars....or should I say...my ponies have let me know they prefer them! lol

Comfy Fit Harness & Myler Bits

Ah yes, Sweden is a bit far away so I understand you wanting to get it right. I am in Australia so was much the same myself when ordering from the US. The good news is that Janie from Chimacum rocks when it comes to customer service So even if you need to fiddle around with the harness, it is...

Comfy Fit Harness & Myler Bits

I own 1 x Camptown a 2x Comfyfit harnesses and personally would choose Chimacum Comfyfit hands down. Actually, a lot of parts on my Camptown harness are now actually from Comfyfit anyway The Comfyfit bridle fits my ponies in a much better/more complimentary way, so I never use the original...

How much for a beginner safe driving horse?

Bit off topic, but here in Australia I see so many people breeding mini's, while at the same time watching the horse sales where perfectly decent little shetlands (some with rego) end up facing death as no-one wants them. I have seen mini's go through the saleyards that sell for as little as...

Harness Advice - Euro style Vs. Neck Collar?

Have fun building! It is an adventure of trial and error but the good thing about building yourself is that everything is exactly customised to your/your horses' needs. Not that I can claim much of the physical building of my carriage, that was down to my husband

    Pairs Size

My guys are about 2.5 - 3" different and the taller pony is also significantly longer in the body than the smaller one too. They enjoy their work together, although my gelding (smaller pony) sometimes really has to hustle to keep up with my mare which probably doesn't appeal to his somewhat lazy...

Harness Advice - Euro style Vs. Neck Collar?

I live in Australia, but you are right - they are the #310 collars from Chimacum. Janie is just wonderful and doesn't mind shipping internationally, I wouldn't shop anywhere else as I think the quality is of a high standard and well, the customer service is of an even higher standard Ooooh I...

Harness Advice - Euro style Vs. Neck Collar?

argh annoying! I have tried to respond a few times but when I go to insert pics the whole shebang freezes and then I lose it. I shall attempt posting the photos before I go all nuts on the explanation Okay the pics are of my two ponies (mare and gelding both pictured as left wheeler) on...

Skunk River HDT report or how to mess up a championship

Sounds like a lot of reflection after the event, which is always a useful thing. I think it helps us to pull apart experiences (good and bad) in order to see what we did do well and what we could do better next time. It sounds like you and your horses are going to have a very bright future...

Harness Advice - Euro style Vs. Neck Collar?

No drinking, well I am sipping a hot chocolate before bed but don't think that makes me sillier than normal ;)lol I didn't know if we were allowed to mention social networking sites or not, so that I could sty in more regular contact with you

Harness Advice - Euro style Vs. Neck Collar?

Thanks for the feedback, that is exactly what I was after. I have placed my order and in the end, deferred to Janie's experience. I said that I preferred the classic aesthetics of collar and hames but that I would take a Euro Collar over neck collar if we couldn't be sure of a proper fit....so I...

    Upcoming show

Hope you and DD have fun,I get what you mean about it not being totally your thing. My ponies and I would also excell at calmly navigating barking dogs, revving motorbikes, kids on scooters...etc etc ;-) lol Hope you get some nice photos of you and DD all polished up on the day

Where to get wooden cart for CDE?

Like the others said, not sure wood is what you are after. I have w meadowbrook style cart similar to the pic one of the other members posted. It is great for road driving and flat, dry ground but the wheels are fairly narrow and 'bite' into sandy or muddy ground rather than floating along on...

Harness Advice - Euro style Vs. Neck Collar?

I have been lurking but not signing in as I had forgotten my password and was too darned lazy to get a new one - obviously I found the motivation now. lol I bought a pairs harness for my two ponies who are 34.5inches(gelding: Hercules Morse) and 36.5 inches(mare: Muffin McClay). I scrimped on...
