    "Reverse" dapples...want to hear more

My Sabrina (Blue Diamond Mercury Blues) is a genetic wonder..LOL! She is a true roan...frosted bay roan Appy..with reverse dapples, counter shading..and she used to have lacing, but it doesn't show much anymore. Here she is But. I know nothing about what goes into getting reverse dapples...

    True Arabian blood in minis???

I guess I should have elaborated a little...what I meant was that Standardbreds were only 2-3 generations back in Harnessbreds..and you can see the Standardbred in them. That isn't that far back ,so I don't think it would take as many generations to get smaller animals as some think. One...

    True Arabian blood in minis???

Well....you know that Fort Storey breeds miniature Harnessbreds? They have some that are the great-grands of Standardbreds..so why not Arabians?

Who made carports into a barn??

I have one of those carports for a hay shed. Mine is 18x21' and I had them install it without sides and with mobile home tie-downs (they offer them and are well worth the small price ) and I also had them make it 2' taller. It was only $100 to go the extra height . And, I think that $100 is...

Has anyone ever heard of Gold Seal World Class as a registry?

I don't know about AMHA, but AMHR has members vote? REALLY??? LOL! I suppose if you have the money and can travel to their big meetings that you might be able to vote..hmmm... Well, anyway, I stick to what I wrote before, they do have their place, and the papers are worth something if you want...

Has anyone ever heard of Gold Seal World Class as a registry?

I would just like to say..in defense of Gold Seal and World Class..that these registries do serve a purpose. I used to use World Class for my unregistered horses as a way of keeping track "officially" of the bloodlines. I later hard shipped the mares into AMHR so their foals could be registered...

Appys (share with us where you got your appys)

Here is my stallion, Hale Farm's Wind Walker. I bought him from Laura Englesman in Ontario,Ca. She has at least 7 generations of her own breeding of Appys. This is a recent picture of one of our home raised fillies by Wind Walker and out of a solid liver mare. Wish I had a better picture of...

Well..I have only had two blacks born, and they were born BLACK..but, they both turned out to be Appaloosa! LOL!! :bgrin this is the colt and this is his full sister..but she did turn a deep red at a few days old so I registered her as a chestnut :o . Now, with her being 3 yrs, I will have...

"Dishy Head" ... what exactly is that ?

Here is my dishy headed mare, Blue Diamond Lil Deuce Coupe "Ginger".I think her head looks so much like Bond Rollback. And, her silver dapple filly from last year has the same head. VERY chisled and oh so pretty. A dish has nothing to do with their forehead, it is a dish in the face itself...

    Mini Appaloosa halter horses ???

I breed for conformation and have Appies that are halter quality..I just wish I could take good pictures of them! I didn't breed Windy (in my avatar at a show), but he is so awesome! I have a 3 yr. filly that would knock your socks off. All horses have faults, but it would be hard to point...

    Can we talk about........

Geri, I believe that the reason they say no beet pulp is because the beet pulp is high in calcium. Not as high as alfalfa, but high none the less. And, that would make you have to supply even more magnesium. They also say not to let them have young grass, but grass later in the season is ok...

    Can we talk about........

Geri, I have some good info that was given to me at Equine Affaire several years ago, by the makers of Quiessence. It came from Horse Journal magazine and not from them. It tells how Magnesium can help those horses that tend to be chunky, cresty, prone to founder. It has to do with Magnesium...

    Warts...another question

It really doesn't look like a wart to me, and it could be a sarcoid. Sarcoids are best treated when they are small. They can go without growing much, then they can suddenly grow to disgusting proportions . Sarcoids are viral and do tend to spread to other places by flies, if left untreated...
