    Fire!

I just saw on the news that the fire is still raging in northeast Oklahoma City. I hope Frank and Charlotte's place is still safe. Many are not.

    Fire!

Thank the Lord their lives and property were spared. Condolences to those who lost possessions.

    Calling Pinto Colour Experts

Personally, I kind of lean toward Splash being a part of the Sabino complex, but that is only a gut feeling. I very well may be proven wrong. I have heard for a few years now that they are working on a Splash test, but I don't know if that means they actually are close to a breakthrough or if...

    Calling Pinto Colour Experts

Since the dam is a Frame, you KNOW the filly has a 50/50 chance of being Frame also. I think most people who study color genetics have come to the conclusion that Sabino does not cause blue eyes, but a few believe it does, and put up a very good arguement for it. One arguement is that Splash...

Would like opinions on 30" and Under horses

I LOVE the under 30 inch horses. I got into Miniatures because I wanted the smallest horses I could get, not the largest horses that could qualify as a Miniature. It took me a while to get the under 30 inch horses, but I have been able to get several over the years. I haven't acquired any...

    Website

VERY nice Jane. Of course I liked it before too. I miss the majestic statue of Queen Boudica. I love the pictures of the village and meadows as much as the horses. Well done!

Just ordered a Wee Foal test!

Simple. Place a woman's pad across the mare's vulva. Tape across from side to side with duct tape or packing tape. The pad will protect the vulva from the tape. Tape will pull off of the hair easily. As soon as she urinates, remove the tape and pad and squeeze the urine into a cup. You...

Have you lost a horse in Oklahoma???

The ad has been deleted so I have no idea what it said, but Nancy Witt has been missing a horse for some time.

    Bluebonnet Feeds

I used to feed a 10% mixed grain they produced. I got it at TSC. I was happy with it, but switched to a pelleted feed with a higher protein that I got from a local feed mill. Of course, I was not feeding show horses, but was happy with it for my purposes. That probably didn't help you a lot.

    Praise the Lord for RAIN!

Our second rain did not materialize here last night, but I thank the Lord for what we did get. Looking at the radar this morning, it looks like maybe southwest Oklahoma got some last night. I sure hope so. North Central Texas is sure getting a good one this morning.

    Does anyone know...

I see that is probably not the information you are looking for. In the AMHA Studbook Online, Horses with the SR prefix seem to be bred by Sid or Ruth Ann Hawkins or by Frances O Evans Seldom Rest Farm.

    Does anyone know...

I have SR (for Songcatcher Ranch) registered as a suffix with AMHR. I will only use it if the last word in my horse's name is registered as a suffix by another farm (never so far). Songcatcher is my registered prefix with both registries.

Is AMHA trying to run customers away?

I agree. Sometimes rules get put through for a specific purpose, but then situations turn up where the rule doesn't seem to make sense. You can't just ignore the rule, but you can work to change it and make it apply appropriately.

    Praise the Lord for RAIN!

As most of you know, most of Texas and Oklahoma (and other areas as well, I'm sure) have been experiencing one of the worst droughts many people can remember. I have lost track of how many days we have had here in southeast Oklahoma that have been over 100 degrees, and our temps have regularly...

I will survive! Drought, heat, low-lifes, etc.

Something to keep in mind is that this $6 - $8 hay most people are talking about is 2 wire bales of 50-60 pounds each. Not the 120 pound bales with 3 wires or strings you see in California.

    Look what I got!

Nice addition to your "boys club". Congratulations!

I will survive! Drought, heat, low-lifes, etc.

I understand the feeling Vickie. I'm not far from you. Surely SOMEONE is doing great. On the radar, I see frequent rain to the east of me, between DeQueen and Hot Springs Arkansas. Also several rains across Kansas, Northeast Oklahoma, and Missouri, but nothing here. God blessed me with a...

Online Mini Horse Auctions- Your thoughts?

I see a lot of advantages to an online auction. I participated in one last year and am planning one of my own (along with a few friends) next month. For me, personally, I will put my reserve price as the opening bid. I'm not going to post a $200 bid on a horse that I will not take less than...

    AMHR/AMHA Lookup

In AMHA, there are no mares registered by the name you gave for the dam. That sire has no 2009 foals listed.

    4 mth old colt

Several years ago, I had one behaving such at around 3 months. The next week he was a hungry squirrel.
