    author - Temple Grandin

Temple Grandin changed the way slaughterhouses were designed and tried to make them as comfortable as possible for slaughter animals such as cattle & pigs.

    Babbit has a new home

Congratulations and I'm so happy that you decided to keep him - it would be so hard for me to foster! As you already know he will repay you for the rest of his life. Your poem is lovely!

    Thinking about investing

I am sooooo glad to read so many "devil's advocate" posts to this thread. Leeana, I don't know you and I surely don't want to come across as someone who knows it all but it is distressing to read some of your threads. On the rescue forum you have a yearling Arab for sale because you can't...

    A Holiday Message

I still have the original poem that was in the Dayton paper years ago with the beautiful Kickapoo's Nickelodeon (sp?) sleeping in the recliner. It's what made me buy my little Kickapoo's Thunder Moon. He makes me laugh every day Dona and I love him so.

    Lost a year long battle,,,,,,,

Oh Carolyn, I am so sorry. I know exactly how you feel. After paying hundreds & hundreds of dollars on FOIA requests I was sickened by what I received and thought I would give up BUT I have been working with a gal at the Animal Legal Defense Fund and she gave me a "pep talk" via e-mail that I...

Sis got her first Mini ....

When/if a horse suffers you will not get any sympathy from me for standing by and doing nothing. That being said I have been in your shoes and walked many miles down that road and I lost most of my family over it. I KNOW what happens in family dynamics. I don't think some people are aware of...

    My last pix of Moonie

And should you miss his attitude just stop by and get a dose of it from his son! The world does revolve around the "Moonie", mine included!

I need all your experience, with feet, please

Maybe he's wanting to blow an abcess?? If you have some ichthamol I'd suggest slathering it on his coronary bands and frogs. It may not be in the front hooves at all so don't forget those back ones. He may be rear sore and it shows up in front because that takes the majority of weight...

    Certified Humane

The best meats I've ever eaten. The taste can't be compared!! The cost isn't that much more and worth every extra penny. Same goes for free-range hens and their eggs. You sound like the perfect humane farmer and I wish there were more like you.

    WWYD?

Thanks so much for the info Heidi but the local law enforcement is in on it to. They have denied me copies of animal cruelty/neglect complaints. A deputy sheriff is the ACO when I say they don't think the law applies to them I'm not kidding. I've been trying to get these reports for 2 years...
