    Horse won't stand in Line-Up

I know in the ring you have a check on him, since its required, do you use it at home also? If checked all the time at home and he's having issues standing still at home, when asked to stand, undo the check and see if it makes a difference, I know a couple of horses that get antsy when the...

    Is this cart okay?

I just paid 75$ for the exact same wheels as on it lol i dont like the shafts, a competent metal working like a welder might could fix them, or they could just break, I've had it go both ways. They look like they have been in a wreck. proceed with caution. Check the welds, etc. It doesn't...

The new harness is here, pics of first fitting

I don't like just nosebands (single strap with no crown piece) They come off (when not on the horse), they get lost, they too me seem more of a bother than useful, I specially ordered a cavesson for my harnesses, I like the look, the feel and they way the lay on the horses' noses better.

Anyone good with color? Is this a Silver Grulla or a Dun? New Pics.

Jill, looking at the pics again,if its the spots on the butt you are seeing I think are just where there is a weird shedding pattern going on or maybe some rubbing/itching, my stallion has the same spots on his butt and no appy in pedigree.

Anyone good with color? Is this a Silver Grulla or a Dun? New Pics.

Looks like grulla to me and I have several of them. I have had a silver grulla and his entire mane and tail were white, with the dorsal stripe and all other grulla /dun markings, shoulder stripe, leg stripes, cobwebbing on forhead, His legs/head were more chocolate than black. He was by my...

Example of harness made by local Amish

I like the two toned Beta, but not on Chesnut horses. Just my personal opinion. They do look fabulous on black/dark bay and greys My baby girl, she is 35" at last mane hairs or 36" at the withers. her registered name is Southern Classic Rainy Day Toy. She is a driving fool. It is her...

    Question about donkeys and foaling

Do donkeys have the same issue with fescue as horses? Being as they are equine I would imagine so, but I am new to donkeys. I got 2 girls and the guy said he had a jack last summer and that the Mini mare he had was probably bred, so I am going to assume these 2 were in with him. 1 of my girls...

Help me pick my new cart

I don't like the springs on the 4th one because.. they are held together with a bolt on each end, I have had these bolts shear off as we were going down the trail. That was not a fun experience as I was a mile from home. I have a Jerald runabout and I have to say the shafts are clunky. Of the 3...

    Feeling discouraged.

Make sure the blinders aren't rubbing or too close to her eyes on the bridle. That can get some horses aggravated and acting spooky.

    soaking alfalfa cubes

If you use hot water they soak up faster also the Sun dried soak up faster than the dehydrated ones. If you break them up into smaller pieces they also soak faster. I don't soak mine for that long, no more than 30 minutes if I use hot water an hour tops, usually start soaking and by the time...

Thinning and cutting/shaving miniature horses mane.

You have to let those short ones grow, that is the trouble with thinning shears and the like those darn hairs. I typically just shave both sides of the mane to get it to lay the way I want. I have never flat ironed a mane before but that is a fabulous idea.

    Wood chips for driveway?

My mother lives in Florida and made the mistake of putting down tree cuttings/chips on her driveway, its a nasty disgusting muddy mess when it rains. Don't do it. I wish I had pictures of it, its a nasty gross mess, looks good at first but when it breaks down a bit its not a good thing.

    Training suggestions plllease

Make arena work fun and not boring. Bring in some cones and play with "barrel racing" the cones meaning doing the pattern but not at full speed, but you can do slow trot, fast trot, etc and change it up and make it fun, keep him guessing as to what you are going to do that day. I was starting...

Triple Crown Senior VS Nutrena Senior

I like the Triple Crown Complete better than the Sr. Does great at keeping the weight on and you don't feed as much as the Sr. I am a Triple Crown Feed Fan

    Another round bale question! :)

I know someone that used a hockey net with much success, much cheaper than the ones labeled for horses.
