We lost a colt last month due to a severely twisted cord at 286 days. This mare has had three healthy fillies prior and this was the third breeding to the same stallion. It was so sad but I believe it was random and it happened during the -16 degree weather. Sorry for the loss.

Reminds me of the case here in Kansas and those minis. I cannot understand how anyone could own all the acreage this man has and neglect his animals? Where was his family? Sad for the minis that that was their end suffering.

We have our own hay and it is round bales. 1000 # bale will last my 10 mares about 3-4 wks depending on weather and yes they waste some They have access 24/7
