    Foal timeline

Ideally mine get to wear a halter for a few minutes at a time, about 2 times a day by a week old. At 2 weeks we put a lead on it and work on leading and I try to work at least 10 minutes a day every day for the first several weeks, till I know they are leading well. But I had my own little...

Zimectrin Gold no more for me

I haven't personally, but have always stayed away from it too. I do know that this spring a lady that was a friend of one of my friends, wormed about 10 big horses with it, and 8 had blisters and swelled up lips and tounges so bad it wasn't even funny. She even posted pictures. A few couldn't...

    Farriers?

I can't get any to even work on mini's down here. So I do them myself with my husband overseeing it. He's got years and years of expereince shoeing the big guys, and has helped me with the littles.

Lookie what we got this morning!

I'm 99% sure he's a champagne, he's got the pink skin and blue eyes right now. I realize that picture didn't show his skin off too well though. But if the dam hadn't of given him her champagne gene, that would of been a possibility. Sire is EE and nothing else. Dam is Ee with 1 cream, and 1...

Lookie what we got this morning!

My Classic Cream Champagne mare foaled early this morning. This is what she had. A Classic Cream (pretty sure on the crema part) Champagne Colt!

Looking for some pictures of these horses

Very very true. Just a bit annoying when you're trying to research bloodlines and come across inaccurate info, and incorrect colors on papers is kind of a pet peeve of mine. LOL AND I know that on All breed individuals can list the info, but noticed on there that they even had Buckeroo as...

Looking for some pictures of these horses

Thanks, and he does not look chestnut to me, but silver black, I guess it's yet another mess up in the AMHR on their color stuff.

Looking for some pictures of these horses

I hope I'm posting in the right forum, if not I apologize. But I'm currently searching for at least a good picture of these horses: BUCKEROO'S LITTLE RASCAL (HOF) NFC IMPRESSIVES TOUCH OF SPICE OR Her sire and dam: NFC ROWDY'S IMPRESSIVE PALMERS JONI Thanks in advance to anyone that...

    champagne?

I can't tell, need a good muzzle and eye shot, minus the mane and hair, he he But I'm kind of siding with Lewella, he looks awful dark, but then again, so does my little Classic Cream mare at certain times. Champagne comes in 4 basic shades, Classic (black based), Golden (red based), Amber...

    champagne?

You need to contact Carolyn Sheppard from the ICHR (look at the link that was proviced) if he's one, and it's on his registration photos, she'll have the info. As far as him still being pally, that just depends on what genes are there, honestly. If he's a champagne, he coudl be a pally with...

Put My Money Where My Mouth Is

Well can't blame you, if you don't feel it's safe for your horses, I'd do the same thing.

    Share dulites horses and information

Not a very good or recent picture (but I'm not really good at taking them like others are) but here is Double T Champagne Skye- A triple dilute-Gold Double Cream Champagne (Cremello Champagne) and the only mini of her color. She's out of a Classic Cream Champagne Mare and a Smokey Black sire...

    Can I apologize?

Hey things happen, and not everyone can be a computer pro, it shouldn't be a requirement to be on here, discussing the little horses should be the motto. LOL Anyhow, just let it blow off you, some can get accusing and mean sometimes, and don't stop to think about whether someoen genuinely made a...

Gray Gene/White Markings on Face/Body in Horses

His sire didn't pass on the grey gene, becuase it obviously only carried one. So he'd have to be Gg, and instead of the G (which is grey) passing on, the g passed on. I'll leave the pinto stuff to those that know more about it, lol

    How much clipping/trimming in winter?

We don't seem to get near as cold as y'all do (although the last year we've had some really cold weather for this area, lol) but I'll trim up a bridle path, and if I'm taking them somewhere, I'll lightly trim the beards up. Not flush against their skin, but get those long hairs cut off, if that...

what colours should i test for?

No champagne unless there is a champagne parent, so that is out. For a triple dilute horse, look at the one in my avatar. She's tested, and proven, a Gold Double Cream Champagne, aka Cremello with the champagne gene.

    Should I Worry About Coyotes?

Ours aren't super, they aren't really that big body wise compared to other parts of the country. But they aren't scared of people, or their surroundings either. They'll take what is the easiest to catch, and 9 times out of 10 around a home, it's your pets.

    Should I Worry About Coyotes?

Coyotes are an opportune preditor. I can attest that it doesn't matter how much 'natural prey' they have around, if they find a dog, cat, or whatnot easy enough to get they'll go for that over their natural prey, any day. Mine come in at night to the pens, becuase i don't want to chance it. I...

    Feed question

HOnestly, I've been around horses my entire life and they've been fed alfalfa, never had a problem with it. I've owned mini's going on 11 years and all mine have been on it too, no problems. I did try grass hay one time and to say they went to heck in a handbasket is an understatement...

Ok lets see? How many are still breeding?

Well I didn't sell a foal this year. Only cause I left everyone open, he he he I bred 3 back for this late winter/early spring, so we'll see how that goes. I've always sold every foal I've produced so far (knock on wood), but one that I intentionally kept. And I sold another and got another...
