    Trick or treating mini!

Somehow I must not have done something right! I went to post this yesterday, and now I can't find it! So will try again! I took Magic and his cart with my 5 year old son trick or treating...figured my son could have his fun, while I had mine, yet supervised his fun! LOL Magic was AWESOME, I...

My mini went trick or treating!

My 5 year old son was so excited about trick-or-treating, and a friend of mine suggested I take my miniature horse, Magic, and his cart along. I liked the idea....it would give him an interesting experience, it would be fun, and it would please lots of children who don't get to see/touch horses...

I would LOVE to see more pics of these actual "mini" trailers. Little ones...not big fancy ones... I am watching this post with great interest!

    BARN DUST! UGH!

I just saw the post on shop vacs.... do most of these work like blowers as well? I just CAN'T keep up with the dust in my barn. Everything gets coated faster than I can clean it! There are always a couple of doors open, so it's not shut up tight by any means, the stalls are unused for the...

Jennys reacting to others in heat

I have two jennies, and one of them, when the other comes into heat, mounts her... I've seen cows do this, but not horses or donkeys... (I've seen geldings mount mares...but not mares mount other mares). Maybe a dumb question...but just curious if this is pretty common. The jenny being mounted...

    Checking for pregnancy

Do you have your minis checked for pregnancy? Are the ultrasounds different (I'm assuming yes) than for large horses? It's actually about a mini donkey that was bred....and I'd like to have her checked in the coming months....have not spoken with my vet about it yet....but what's available...

    Frustrated!!!

Ozark Mtn (www.minitack.com) has Hamilton checkerboard halters...I have two, and am getting ready to order a third! I have two sizes, the larger size has a throat snap, and I just love the subtle checkerboard look.

I'm joining you~ Cart Drivers ADVISE

Here's an interesting link http://www.oregonvos.net/~jrachau/drive.htm It's about teaching a donkey to drive, however you need to teach yourself how to drive them, so it could work in the same way! I'd recommend you do LOTS of groundwork/ground driving with them to get yourself completely...

    Leaving halters on

Thanks, I've felt awful about this! I'm going to get her a break-a-way halter, but until I do, I cut up a cheap old leather belt and buckled it into the strap...so it should break if need be. I see why, in all the pictures I received of her before I bought her, she always had her halter on...

    Leaving halters on

Firstly, let me say I do NOT leave halters on any one of my horses. I've never had a bad experience, but I don't want to either! Gracey....LOL....she is always keeping life interesting! (she's WONDERFUL in front of that cart, when she's WORKING! Any other time and she's a...
