    False Advertising?

O.K. - I think you are getting WAY to analytical about this!! Yes, a mini can be Arab type or quarter type or draft type. Don't everyone jump all over me for this but the "standard of perfection" is open to interpretation. If your horses are quarter type or draft or arab because that is what...

    False Advertising?

First, I don't think these are "gimmicks" they are attention grabbers and most people I think really believe what they are saying. If everyone looked for and bred for the same thing, we would all have the same horse. How boring is that. Second the term "Barn Blind" applies, alot. Some people...

A trailer or Hauler? what about a minivan?

We hauled a 30.5 2yr old stallion from Wisconsin to Southern Iowa behind the 3rd seat in a suburban. I do not recommend it!!!!! We had to put down plywood, trashbags, cloths & straw before we could put him in. My sister and I had to sit in the 3rd seat in front of him in case he jumped. When...

    How to Start Driving?....Completely Clueless

First let me say that I am in no way shape or form an expert on teaching a horse to pull a cart. I have taught one gelding to pull a cart in my life and he was absolutely bomb-proof, kid broke and unflappable from the start. He was pulling me in the cart around the farm in 3 days BUT, that...

    How do YOU teach Whoa!

My point was that even when my horses are loose in liberty or in the pasture, they learned that whoa means stop and stand until I move them. The same horses that I showed in liberty I also showed in halter. When it was time to stand and be judged, I whipered whoa to them when they were "posed"...

If your farrier did this to you...

That was extremely unprofessional!! I honestly don't know what I would do in your situation. Was this the first time he was to work on your horses? Has he done this before? Maybe it was a one-time thing but I don't know why he would lie, that would bother me. Did the assistant know what...

Mud, mud and even more mud!!!

My suggestion would be to haul sand in and let it mix with the dirt. This should provide better drainage and quicker drying. We raised horses on sand for years and never had any problems with sand colic. Kelly

    How do YOU teach Whoa!

I always start my horses on the lunge line. When they are going at a good pace, I say Whoa! and then give the line a yank. I continue to say whoa and yank the line (not hard, just enough to get their attention) until they come to a stop. I let them stand for a few seconds then walk up the...

    Color question

I would say tobiano only for both. I don't see any markers for "overo." What a wonderful thing you have done, taking them in and giving them a home. Kelly

Help any ideas to help my colt

I agree with the probios. You can get it in a paste like a wormer. I would try that. Be careful with the psyllium though, I have heard that if you over-do it and they do have sand in the gut, you can do as much harm as good. Good luck, I hope you find something that works!! Kelly

Find a supplier that sells sheep products. They should work well with your horses. Kelly

Looking for Circle S bred horses

Hi- This is the first time I have posted anything here in a long time so bear with me if I mess something up. I would like to know if anyone out there has any Circle S bred horses and where you are located. Mom and Dad have retired and have disbanded the farm and the breeding program. I have...
