Do any of you know when the AMHR Harrington, DE shows will be in 2006 and also the Keystone, PA ones?

Thanks!

E mail from Bev last night....no April show, May 21 and 22 show in Harrington. The Keystone show in PA is I think the first weekend in June. Regionals will be in Horseheads in July. I think I heard from Karen and Cheryl that there will be an AMHR show in NC where the WC show was. I would like to get an AMHR club started here in VA and get a show organized. Bruce said when he moves south he wanted to get some shows started. He told me they are going to move in spring hopefully. He cant handle the snow shoveling anymore.

I believe the show in North Carolina will be an AMHA/AMHR sanctioned show and the dates are March 31, April 1 & 2, 2006. It is being organized by the East Coast Miniature Horse Club (and my membership application is sitting on my desk to get filled out and mailed -- along with all that other "paperwork" I never have time to do).

I heard that the Hookstown Pa show should be 7/15/06 Saturday from talking to Maggie from Mini Ridge Farm. The Butler show is to be 5/14 Saturday. That is what was told to me so far for Pa shows, nothing is confirmed yet though.

Yes the East Coast Miniature Horse Club is having its first sanctioned shows March 31, April 1 & 2, 2006. But we were unable to get the facility in Williamston, NC. Hated that, we love that place.

The show will be held at the Camden Equestrian Center in Camden, SC this time. We are looking into other places for another show later on, but this is were we are starting at. It will be AMHA and AMHR. Charlotte Chowning is our show manager and we will be advertising more once we have more information. But please put us on your show calendar for next year. We really want to bring more shows to the east coast in our area so everyone can show more, travel less. We will have a list of hotels and there are also plenty of RV hook ups on site. We are excited about doing this show and could use all the support we can get.

You can check out our club at East Coast Miniature Horse Club. Looking forward to a big turnout and lots of fun and fellowship.

As soon as the Westmoreland Fairgrounds gets the grant from the state for another horse barn we can have a rated show there. The grant has to be aproved yet and the Fairgrounds have the plans already laid out beside the 2 arena's, plus there is a practice one too and there actually is another building that could be used for an indoor arena as well. There is just one horse barn at the moment for stalling, which I think we would need the additional one to be safe to have horses/tack stalled properly. We just have to wait for the other horse barn to be built first before seeking the rest to be done from someone to take charge of AMHR show management for the show to be held. The fairgrounds is located in the Greensburg area. My husband is the equine superintendent for the Westmoreland Fair and it would be nice to have another show here in Pa. Keep our fingers crossed to get Rendell to sign soon, but I won't hold my breath on it either. After that, since he is superintendent there, we could get the place with any trouble as long as we could agree on a date with not another show being held at the same time.

Lyn I am sorry too, we tried to get Williamston but they were already booked, and there just isn't enough places to have a show that will work. You have to have a covered arena, camper hookups and plenty of stalls. There just isn't enough of those places around. We checked on Lexington, VA. If someone could convince them to be more resonable about prices, we could do it. They charge as much for their small arena as Williamston does for its very large indoor arena. I am very surprised at the lack of show facilties in NC and VA. And the ones that are there are booked way in advance. No wonder its hard to put on shows. But we are working on trying to make as many happy as possible for a bigger turnout. Its about 5 1/2 hours from you Lyn, maybe something will come up that you can make it anyway, would sure would miss not having you there.

I sure do wish we could get more shows here in NJ. All of our shows are way up north close to NY. Hubby and I took a drive last spring towards Harrington DE and in a regular vehicle not towing trailer or horses it took us about 3 hours, and we still had not gotten to Harrington yet!

Would imagine it would be even longer with a trailer and horses hitched onto the truck.

IUnfortunately I don't have anyone to mind the farm while we would be gone for that long a period. I'd like to work something out for the May show in DE...that sounds like fun being able to do a show in nice spring weather. We'll see. I remember a few years back there used to be shows here in NJ in a town called Mullica Hill....wonder why they stopped giving them there?

2006 is the year of shows for my farms. We are going to Butler, Hookstown, and Meadville. I think we are going to World in Ohio. We are going to nationals. I think we are going to one in SC in March. Very exciting year.

Thanks for the info, ladies!

Karen, you know I am willing to help with amount I said in sponsorship or whatever if we can get an AMHR show in Lexington, VA. I really want to go to the club's show but it is also too far for me to go

Oh, also, is there only ONE (1) DE show this year? I thought there were "normally" three up at that facility?

Jill there used to be one in April, one in may and then they will also have one I think still 4th of july weekend. Regionals will be the week after that.
