I must feel like you do Jane. I wish I could go somewhere and hang out and not have to come back until after Christmas. I am not looking forward toshopping and would rather write out a check to everyone and let them buy what they want or need. I used to have all the family from gr.moms to moms and dads and all the kids and uncles and aunts but I just don't have the energy for it all anymore. Yes Christmas is for sharing but I think the buying of stuff has gotten way out of hand.

Christmas has lost it's true meaning, for the most part and becoming a big shopping spree for the stores to make a lot of money. Think I will donate to a needy cause and be done with it. I know, I know, I sound like Scrooge!!! Mary

I would be careful about pointing out how close Xmas is as I know a few people that would take potshots at you for mentioning it. I am looking forward to decorating the house and actually have some holiday spirit starting even though no shopping done yet.

Yippie!!! I have always loved Christmas, but I agree that the gift buying is gettting out of hand. Plus since my brother is 24 and I'm 22 we have decided to do something different for Christmas. We have rented the indoor barn here in town from December 22-Jan 2, bought 40 head of roping steers, set up tons of stalls and sent out invitations to all of our really good friends. We are going to see all of our old friends, rope, eat, catch up, spend time with all the little kids that will show up and have a Christmas that revolves around friends and family instead of what's under the tree. I'm so excited to see everyone again

I kind of have to laugh here it seems that folks either love Christmas or love to complain about it!!

I love Christmas because I get to see family and friends that I don't get to see regularly during the year, we have fun, eat good food, have a good time

...the gifts are fun but not a big deal. I love the decorating and that special holiday feeling.

It is also a fun time at the salon because I see almost all of my customers during the month ofDecember!!

See you on the 22nd!!!!

Seriously though, I love ideas like this, make your Xmas a special one that doesn't revolve around gift giving. Christmas is exactly what you make of it!!!

Im not really a big fan of xmas for alot of reasons. I like it in the middle of summer but this time of year no.

I must also say this is the first time I havent been done by now. I am normally done shopping by Oct. Dont do people and crowds well at all. I panic way to easy and that many people....................no way.

I have no family, they are all dead, there is just me. Christmas is just another day, as is my birthday. It does not bother me as I am used to it now, but I don't bother with decorations and there are no presents so, it's just another day.

And I never liked it when I was a child, either, so there are NO find memories!!
