Thanks Debi
:
Dove is doing great, thanks for asking about her. She is a solid wee girl now, we just came back from the vet's office, where she weighed in at 12.1 kg or 26.6 lbs! (At two days she was 5.2 kg or 11.2 lbs) She is 19.50" tall, (from 15.00" at two days) and continues to be healthy and cheeky! She finally has some teeth, and is on a foal ration and hay, (pulverized hay cubes) as well as her milk replacer. She likes to nibble grass, and can run like the wind when she wants to. She spends more time outside and is very curious, but does not stray far from us. We have five other foals now, and she likes them, but Adah is her favourite friend, and our daughter Jessica has taken a shine to sweet little Adah and will be keeping her, so Dove will always have her favourite buddy here with her. This will make the transition to the barn so much easier.
Dove bucks and runs so fast all over the place when she gets let out, but do you think I can get one good photo of her doing it? She goes so fast that I get great shots of her hind feet or her tail disappearing out of the picture! I will persist till I get some though.
Sunday is the eight week mark, :aktion033: and when she was born I never thought we would be celebrating her two month birthday! How VERY glad I am to be proven wrong
Here is Dove last weekend, the weather is truly horrid this week, cold rain, wind, and even 3cm of SNOW yesterday!
: I will attempt to get new photos when it warms up again at the end of the week.
Just for comparison...
March 5 - less than 24 hours old, eyes not open yet, and just thin silky fur like baby mouse fur.
April 3 -
and then the above photos were last weekend - April 22/23.
