Here are a few pictures from the Derby City Spring Fling show in Louisville, KY last weekend. Weather was nice for the weekend, show went smooth I thought and it was a well attended show with the last count I heard 216 horses entered. Many halter classes had up to 15 horses in them, in the mini classes the least I had in a class was around 6. I haven't been able to work the show horses on any schedule at all, really hardly any at all but I was pleased with how they showed and did.
WallStreet Jessie James - a TINY classic shetland, who will be mini next year. This was his first show, and we have to learn to trot on the rail and not want to play, paw, buck and jump.....he is still a stallion at this point, but hopefully a gelding soon.
And I saw a post about showing a horse not clipped if it could be done - well Jessie hasn't been clipped in these pictures, just some facial work and bridlepath.
three firsts two year old stallion, all three Jr. Grand Championships and an Overall Grand and two Overall Reserve Grands
Erica's I've Got Angel Eyes - Who finished her HOF in halter this show :aktion033: , as she needed one more Grand.
All firsts in 30-32 Sr. Mare, Two Sr. Grand Championships and a Reserve, and then Two Overall Grand Champion Mare.
Erica's Cloverbud-
Two firsts and a third in a class of 15 ammy mares under, All three firsts in two year old mare, Jr. Grands and a Reserve.
Erica's Oh Boy - it was his first show too, he was tired by the end and quit showing but he will learn what it is all about with time.
Two firsts and a second out of 14 ammy geldings under, seconds in his yearling gelding class and Jr. Reserve Champions.
Erica's Echos of my Destiny -
Two firsts and a second out of 12 ammy stallions under, three firsts in his two year old class, Jr. Champion Stallion and two Reserve Jr. Grand Champions and then Reserve Overall Grand.
Erica's RFM Spring Thunder -
Two firsts and a thrid in ammy mares over, firsts and seconds two year old mare, Jr. Grand and Reserve, Overall Reserves
Erica's Shezzz Got Legz - it was her first show and she was a nut case, didn't have a clue and even though she is stalled by herself at the house and at the shows she is so attached to the other horses in the barn that was all she did was call for them. We are going to see if we can break this habit over the next few weeks and if not maybe she just doesn't want to be a show horse, as this was all she did.......
