April 30th will forever be an important date to me. Not only was it the date of two of our mini's births (FULL brother and sister. One born 2010 and the other 2011) but it is also the official date that we stopped breeding. I cannot be happier. Not only with these two babies but with the rest of our herd. In two days one of my geldings (a dwarf) will turn FIVE. Half a decade old!!!!

Here's some pictures of the lady of the hour. Hopefully going to be registered as, JCS Grand Finale (aka. Ale)

I am in love with how she is maturing at the moment.

Can't wait to see her naked this spring, so far she's looking really good.

They are beautiful! Do you have a picture of your 5 year old dwarf?
I do. This is a picture of him from last year; as a four year old. It does however show his faults well. He is not by any means the most severe. Compared to some well known dwarves (Lil' Bits and Thumbelina) he is very minor. He is though, a dwarf.

You can see in this picture his faults:

-Small ears

-Bulgous forhead

-Short neck

-Pot belly

-Long back (thought to be signs of a carrier)

-Cowhocks (you can't see them, but he is)

Like I said though, he is not very severe but we celebrate his life anyways. His birth was very tramatic and last 2 hours (no vet or parents present. His nose was out the entire delievery but his dam nor I could get his head to pass through. Its a miracle that his dam's contractions didn't crush his lungs. Once we got an adult around we were able to deliever him. He was born on a Saturday and we had to nurse his dam until Monday before our vet made his nurse and his dam accept him)
