Yesterday someone was driving and saw a horse down and went to the door of the owners and told them, they went out and their horse had been shot in the hip, they think someone from the road! They had to put him down and out of his missery!

How horrible for these people! There were 2 other horses in with him and they were fine...

What is wrong with people??

They said on the news they would prosecute if they find the person and there is a reward ...

I just want to numb chuck the shooter in the head.

Some people need to get a REAL life...

Hope they find the one responsible and that justice is served! I'll be listening for updates! Scary to think we have this kind of stuff in our area

OMG that's awful... we keep ours in the back, only the round pen is out by the road because there is never a horse in it without a person... guy down the street had his horses out front and someone shot several of them with a BB or pellet gun... no deaths but still, awful! he now keeps all of his out back away from the road as well.

what is WRONG with people?????????

Years ago, before I had horses, there were horse shootings around where I lived (Fauquier County, VA). I do not know if they ever caught the person, but there were multiple shootings. There are some really sick people in the world

Isnt the world just filled with fine loving people! :DOH!

I'd like to shoot them in the axx and then lets ask them how that felt.

We had a cat my mom owned for thirteen years and she brought her with us from Indiana to Texas. One night she escaped outside. A few days later we found her dead in our yard. Someone had shot her with a pellet gun.

We've had a bit of this sort of thing in our neck of the woods. In one case, an Akita was being x-rayed for another condition and found to be just riddled with BB's. His owner had noticed small wounds from time to time, but had assumed they were marks from thorns, or flybites, that sort of thing. I don't know if they found out whether the horses he lived with had been shot or not.

The other happened almost on my back steps. Someone took 2 Gators from a horse farm just down from us, drove them all over the woods for a while, then "borrowed" a front loader from the same place and ran them over, causing about $10,000 in damage. They drove right past our place repeatedly, and we never heard a thing. At least they left the horses alone. This place has about 30 horses, some of them high-dollar Arabians. If they had driven that loader through the fences, some of those horses might have wound up on a very busy road that also isn't far from us. Even when it doesn't involve animals, such wanton distruction does absolutely no good, why would anybody do it?

We had an idiot shot a roping horse horse with an arrow in the neck. They did catch him and charge him. Last I heard they were trying it as a misdermenour (sp).

I am so sorry for that horse.

So sad. I just will never understand.

My cat was killed by someone that lived a few houses from me years ago. She was shot. I adopted a cat from Petsmart about a month after my cat was killed. It was meant to be as she had been in the cage for over 30 days at Petsmart. It was very sad. I have found small little bumps on her. They move and I have wondered if they are BB's. Next vet visit I'm going to mention it to them.
