I went to Washburns web site to order a show pic of Lilly. She is about the only filly in the futurity class without a pic there and, there are about 100 classes of pics missing including wed am under mares... so, no pics at all of her!

There were some good ones of Midas that I will buy but, I really wanted a show pic of the little girl!

I feel for you

At our National Show this year, the so-called 'professional' photographer wasn't! Her camera couldn't even handle the dim light later in the day, so none of the B horses even got pics at all.

She also worked at our NZ American Miniature Horse Club show, and I desparately wanted a pic of my President's Touch turnout. But alas, she decided they weren't any good, and deleted them before even bothering to let me see them!! Grrrrrrrrrrr...

Washburns are definitely professionals dont get me wrong.... Im just disapointed that Lillys pics are not there.

Lyn

Yes, I'm sure they are very professional, but it's disappointing all the same.

Lyn is that website availabe to all? I would LOVE to browse there! Maxine

PS Sorry bout' Lilly. Id have loved to see her picture.

If you have a problem with one of the vendors or the Video or Show Photographer please address it to The office and to the Show Management.. I do agree that one of the Photograper's should be there until the last class as those are just as important as the first class of that day.

: I will try and remember to also bring this up.

I agree with BWMinis- I was not horribly impressed and the couple of pics that they did get of Renegade were HORRIBLE- took one when he was not stood up yet, bad angle, etc.... My neighbors didnt get any good pics either of their two mares there.

That would be very disappoitning Id be so upset if I took my guys downa nd there were no pictures

Sorry Lyn..

There may be pictures of your horse that were taken, as I have found errors in the uploading to the website.

At the show I viewed proofs that are not online. I even have the proof numbers written down (thank goodness) but they are nowhere to be found on the website.

Lots of pictures are repeated under Friday backdrops and Saturday backdrops, with many of the Friday backdrop shots missing and pictures actually taken on Saturday appearing under both the Friday and

Saturday categories.

I e-mailed them about this last night and have not had a response nor has the problem been fixed, but

I'm sure they'll get to it.

I thought the photographers did a fine job, and the pictures I received from 2006 were not nearly as

dark as the Schatzburg photos I received from 2005. I also received them quicker and the prices were the same. They have not gone up this year. Yes they are pricey, but no more expensive than the Schatzburg

photos were. I really thought it was a big improvement this year to be able to view them on monitors rather than waiting in line to see the tiny images on those big proof sheets. They said next year they will have even more monitors.

And it is VERY nice that they give each of the youth a coupon for a free photo!

I do hope that they get the upload problems straightened out.

Pictures of our horse was taken but in one class the photographer spooked Lee's colt just as the judges were coming up to look!

: Lyn, we going to spiffy our horse up, & take a picture of him with his national ribbons now since we didn't like the ones the photographer took.

Well I was very happy last year and very happy with almost all of mine that I plan on ordering this year.. :aktion033: ...was one where the horse wasn't set up great in the win pic, but the 15 others look great.

Lyn, I can certainly feel for you on missing the big chance for this picture!

As an exhibitor AND as the mother of a professional photog I get both sides of this problem. But I always tell our clients to get backdrop shots of their horse since ring shots may not be taken or may not be good....they are more 'iffy'.

We did order some pictures, but feel the quality is not as good as Schatzburg's. I think one of the things the photographer is focusing on is getting a performance horse exactly in front of the Nationals sign in the ring. Several of our performance pictures were off stride for lack of a better description. However, Nata and her friend Kelly Robinson have 1/2 brothers showing in the same classes, and they got together with the photog, and had some beautiful pictures taken of the two boys together. One was snapped as they were standing at full alert, touching noses. Of course the hands and lead shanks will be taken out, and the girls are talking about maybe even using them as Christmas Cards. Of course since one is in Ky. and one in Texas, some people will be getting the identical cards. They were good though.

Maybe they just didn't get the pictures online Lyn, and if you call them, they may sort it all out for you.

Glad I am not the photographer or another vendor cause I would have to come back here to make sure I wasn't getting bashed too hard with someone unhappy...........

I wasnt bashing, I am buying 3 pics of Midas I was just disappointed that Lilly doesnt have any pics avaliable to chose.

Lyn

I wasn't there so can't comment on anything other than to say I personally was very pleased with the quality of the photos that I saw (both from the back drop, from the center ring, and from the classes) and I have already purchased mine.

With a Futurity class, with only one judge, and a large number of entres, I wonder if that is a "fast" class when you're the photographer tryng to get a shot of "everyone"?

I agree on the Backdrop closing...................that is wrong.

I just don't think this is the place to bring this up, without calling someone that can do something first. Call your directors NICELY and tell them, they can make things better.

It just bothers me when EVERYONE no one person, comes here to states complaints (which these are valid, so I apoligize, I thought I had typed that I mean no offense to anyone), when this is just a forum.........we can sit here all day and write write write, but we have to contact the correct people to get it fixed.

Hopefully that came off how I had planned on it.

I could be wrong - but it is my understanding that the AMHR Youth Committee buys the pictures for the youth. They decided they would like that better than a lot of smaller items. I believe they started that last year and it has been a great hit.

I must say out of the four photos of the same horse of mine one is ok and the others are not very good at all BUT I did see some of others that were totally outstanding. I've taken enough photos on my own to know that just the way it goes sometimes.

Some of the classes were huge and I can see where it would be easy to lose track of which ones you did or did not get photos of. Just going down the line doesn't work when 1/2 of the babies pick that point in time to act out.

The lack of a photographer there for the duration is an issue I would be steamed about though.

If you wanted pictures of your horses you should have specifically asked for them ahead of time. I went to their table and gave them all the info they needed and they took several pictures.

We did have one setting of backdrop pics taken but wanted to take another set because we hadn't seen the first batch yet and wanted to make sure they were nice. They were closed before the last class on Thursday got over. Just by a few minutes. And I think it was 9:30pm. I'll tell you that by that time of night we were foolishly tired and I imagine they were too.

Professional pictures at Nationals were extremely important to me so I made sure I asked ahead of time.
