I pass this as a friend sent it to me ---- many of us can relate.

Tale Of Two Doctors - Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day

and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an

appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an

x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his

surgery scheduled for 6 months from then pending the review boards

decision on his age and remaining value to society.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet. The SECOND is a Senior

Citizen on Obama care...

In November if He and his Czars get another term we'll all have to

find a good vet.

I saw that before, too, and think it makes a great point that many here will probably just refuse to see. Thank you for posting it.

Many do not "refuse" to see "great points" - they just recognize an old joke for what it is!

That Golden Retriever joke has been around for many years (the dog breed and specifics may change) , except it had nothing to do with Obamacare and simply referred to the way we are treated in our medical system as opposed to veterinary medicine. Which has always been sad but true.

But now of course that same satiric comparison which has basically been true for many, many years has now been turned into an Obamacare "truth" with the "value to society" part alluding to death panels added in.

A weak bit of fearmongering but still a decent example of irony...

You know, I've actually read an article about Canadians going to vetrinarians for scans rather than wait "their turn".

Along the same lines I was just talking to a friend about the excellent response time when taking an animal to our nearby vet teaching hospital,U of PA New Bolton.I have been many times with horses and when you arrive with the horse there are about 15-20 people waiting to take the horse and start working immediately.they take the horse, you go to the office to fill out paperwork and by the time you get back out to animal they have already done many tests. It is so different than a human ER where you are left sitting often times for hours while very little is being done.Maybe next time I need something I'll call my vet to see if I can go to New Bolton.Just kidding of course.

I truly feel we need some type of medical "plan" in this country and, like many, have no specificas as to how to pay for it, etc. But it is already being done -- to some extent -- with Medicare & Medicaid. With so much in place with those systems I feel we "might" be able to alter/reform/extend those to have a "national" type system. Many of the "excess" costs within these systems can be chalked up to abuse, pure & simple.

Ahhhh......one thing, the politicians are not the ones who need to work up a plan, theirs is paid by us and is the cadillac of plans! Maybe part of the plan would be to make them be on the same system as the rest of us. Possibly more low-cost clinics for our "everday" issues (colds/virus/broken arms/cuts, etc) and I firmly believe in an amount of preventative work, esp for those high risk and elders. If everyone could have access after a while the costs would level out. Canada isn't only country with a national plan....Europe has several.

Vets generally do not have the volume of "people" ERs but, most work far faster.

Perhaps we as voters/taxpayers should REALLY PUSH and KEEP PUSHING, for the laws to change to include Congress in the SAME HEALTH/BENEFITS systems available to the 'general populace', and on the same terms, as I mentioned in the 'we are doomed...Obamacare' thread here on the BP.
