I have 8 double reg AMHA/AMHR A size minis and 1 37 1/2 inch AMHR mare. I also have a small 41 1/2 inch shetland. Our A horses range in the 32-34 inch height as anything less than 32 inches really doesn't thrill me for driving. And yes I have heard [and hear it a lot in this area] that the "B" horses are inferior. Not so!

I have both sizes and registrys in my herd. I started out thinking I preferred As. But really we got into minis in the first place to drive but life got in the way and we never got to drive like we wanted. Now 10 years later we are actively driving and yep the larger horses just usually are more fun! So I think u will be seeing more B sized horses here

I have the wee little tykes under 30" and love everything about them, including their size! I have worked with the B sizes and just didn't like their size. For me, the smaller, the better! Though I will say I am finding I prefer my mares in the 28" range and not much smaller. It is tough enough finding a conformationally correct stallion even smaller than my girls lol!

We have always bred for the smaller minis, so our entire herd is AMHA, and most of them are double registered with AMHR. That said, one of our first AMHA mares went over, was registered AMHR, and was bred to our tallest stallion to produce two beautiful Over division mares. While I love minis for their willingness--regardless of size!--it did kill me to sell our amazons! I got a throwback last year who is already 34" at a year, so I guess we're A and B again.
