A question for CMHR folks

Just went to the CHMR website and I'm confused. It appears that there are only 2 horses (Ten & Tina) up for adoption right now. If that's correct it's wonderful to know there are only 2 still looking for homes. Confusing part is when you click on the newsletter it shows both Ten and Tina have been adopted.

I guess my real question is, other than the 9 new ones Marty mentioned in another post, are there NO horses up for adoption or does it just appear that way? If they've all been adopted that's GREAT.....but if there are still some who need homes....someone might want to consider a "currently available" list on the website.

Another question since I'm here (and am already being a pain in the b***). When is the auction?

Hi Donna

We are working on getting the pictures of the 9 horses up. One foster in WI has 3, another foster in WI has 2, and our Foster in IL has 2, Ten is still available and there is one more in today. Shannon and Mona have been trying to get the web site revamped. It should be done in the next week or so. We are also putting up a store you can reach from the front page with beautiful fashion halters, leads and believe it or not dog and cat collars, leashes and other things for sale.

Your not a pain in the butt we have more surprises for you all in about 10 days..... It will be announced.

Thanks for asking!!! Our website is in the process of being updated as we speak and we are really excited about it. We've been working on the updates with our webmaster Mona and she works as hard and fast as she can for us. She's great. I've been busy making some graphics for it too. There are a whole lot of changes that will be going up so stay tuned.

Yes Tina is adopted and I just put Ten up on the LB sales board again two days ago as he still needs a home.

All the new horses are being settled in their foster homes and being evaulated so we will know exactly how to advertise them to the public and that takes time. Its been quite a chore for Connie our president to get them all in foster care as they came in from all over the place. We need to get all the information correct before we put it up and there is also a 30 day "hold" in foster care before we even offer them. You will be seeing them soon so just bare with us.

Meanwhile, we will shortly be announcing our new sale barn fully loaded with great stuff and Gini is getting geared up to be your new sales clerk.

First of all you are not a pain in the butt.

We will do our best to answer your questions anytime.

I'm not sure what newsletter you were looking at but the September newsletter states "Adoption Pending" on those particular horses and the October newsletter reads that Tens adoption fell through. I'm a little confused or maybe I am not seeing things right. hmmmm...... I just went back and looked at both of those newsletter and see nothing that states that both Tina and Ten have "been adopted".. Can you show me where you see that?

We have been working diligently as a team to get our website updated. It takes countless hours to get things in order and then presented to Mona.

We did just get 8 new horses in last week, but they will not be available for adoption until after their 4 week evaluation in foster care. They will be up on the website very soon.

As to your question about the Auction - I'm not sure we will be having a Fall auction this year as we are opening our sales barn and that is really time consumming right now. We are all volunteers and there are just only so many hours in a day. To be very honest with you I believe I put in about 50 hours last week just on CMHR..........Don't get me wrong - I love it, but I also have a family to tend to along with my own personal horses!

Thank you for caring about CMHR and checking in on the horses. As the other ladies have said Ten is still available for adoption and I am currently working on the November newsletter where all of our new horses will be listed but not ready for adoption quite yet.

Connie it was the Sep newsletter that I thought said Ten had been adopted. Oops it does say pending ... right there in big red letters.

You guys are doing a wonderful job and I sure hope none of you thought I was being critical. Just wanted to point out that it appears that NO horses are currently available for adoption. Looks like that's a fact and that's a GOOD thing!

Yes it is a great thing that we only have Ten available for adoption at this time, but with the 8 that just came in and I project many more that list will unfortunately grow. We appreciate you keeping an eye and if you know anyone looking for nice mares or geldings we have several that will be ready in just a few weeks.....................
