We got Ale's show halter yesterday and we decided to take some pictures of her in it.

We...are beyond proud of her. Last night was STRESSFUL for us while taking these pictures. But, as you can see even through stressful situations she is still able to set up successfully like a good little girl.

For those interested, we got this halter from Horse.com. I've heard some mixed reviews about them being crummy. It is plasticy and bendable. (Which is a GOOD thing because otherwise the nose band wouldn't have worked for us!) It came with conchos and a chain but I thought that it looked REALLY cheesy and tacky so I took them off.

Yeah, now to figure out which to put on my website.

She looks great. Thats wonderful she sets up for you in stressful situations, I cant even always trust my senior gelding to do that lol just a suggestion, but I think the halter would look a little better if you tightened it one notch, even if you have to maybe add a hole. Right now its down a little too low on her muzzle.

OMG! She is too cute, but I agree with My dadysjag the halter is just a little too low for show, needs to be tighted one or two holes up.

i think you should put the first picture on your website, either the first or the third. she looks so cute in it!!!

To be honest, the halter cannot be tightened.

Its on its very last hole and you can't make any more.

What annoys me the most about this halter is the fact that they included a 12 INCH throat chain. That's the size of a throat chain on and ADULT halter. This is supposed to be a weanling halter. This is plenty long enough for a hoof to get caught if the foal were to spook.

I took pictures especially for the purpose to show you guys just how long it is:

That is a HUGE gap.

I will be altering the chain.

You don't really need the throatlatch chain, but I'd leave the conchos on. I think they look nice on her. She's very cute.
