Ya just gotta wonder sometimes what in the world people are thinking.

After that horrific storm last week there were 7,000 electrical workers sent to St. Louis to do repair work (my SOL being one of them). Would you believe inner city residents were actually throwing bricks and bottles at the lineman who were there trying to get power restored? It's a true story. They were told that if they felt threatened to just pack up and leave the area.

What's wrong with people??????????

Now this is the type of thing that really makes me mad.

I cannot for the life of me understand why people think they are supposed to sit on their butts, do nothing to help themselves, and then complain because nobody is doing everything for them.

Getting mad a the government because they don't hand out large enough welfare checks is bad enough, but to physically assault those who are actually WORKING to try to HELP...that's just about the bottom of the barrell. These are the very people that we need to take back in time to find out if they could survive 100 or 200 years ago. (To be honest, there are several other things I would rather see happen to them, but I can't list those here.)

I hope that your son-in-law gets home safely.

I agree strass there is no Common sense left in our country. Its like people sitting waiting for help when they were dying of thirst during Katrina there was ample material to build a fire and boil water Lord knows there was lots of water around If the water were boiled it would have been drinkable even if not palatable but instead people sat and waited for someone to come. I would hate to think what would happen if the power grid failed and throwing things at those trying to help is unconcienable.

It does make you wonder what on earth is wrong with people

I'm going to get in trouble here but I still have my migraine and I just don't care!!!

Someone needs to go in there and get the children and elderly out then leave the rest till they can figure out what it is like to be THANKFUL that other people are willing to put their lives on the line to help them out.

There was a time when the neighbors would be out there helping in any way they could.

AMEN!!!!!

Robin, that pretty well sums up a conversation my daughter and I had. Unfortunately there are children and old people involved too. If they had to pull out it would be a perfect example of the majority suffering because of the actions of a few (idiots).

They did report one residence they couldn't get any response from which appeared to be occupied and someone was found dead inside. He had been trying to stay warm using his charcoal grill. Such a shame!!!!!

Thanks to all of you who wished my SOL well. We're not really worried about him. These linemen are pretty hardy types.
