Does any one know if AMHA will accept digital printed at home pictures for registration? Thanks for any help, Mary

They accepted my last years foals and a couple of temp to perms so must be okay.. :bgrin

They have accepted mine in the past also. I just make sure I do not alter them in any way. I don't crop or resize or anything else. That way there isn't any questions.

Digital is okay as long as it's photo quality paper. I take mine with the digital camera and then have them printed at a photo shop......I use Walgreen's or RiteAide. I guess it depends on how good your printer is and what paper you print on if you can do it from home.

I've been printing mine at home for years and digital is readily acceptable. Make sure your photos are printed on photo paper and the images are at least 3 X 3.

I did digital and had them printed by Snapfish I had them sent directly to my home and they turned out really well. I'll be doing that in the spring when our foals are being registered. Worked for me and it was cheap.

I also have used digital photos for all my AMHA registry work. I do crop the pictures to be sure the horse takes up most of the frame. I have mine printed by York Photo and the service is very inexpensive (10 cents a print) and the pictures are in my mailbox within a few days.

They have always accepted our digital photos too, we print our pictures on high quality Kodak paper.

I take digitals and print them out at home on good photo paper. You can get good photo paper at Staples for about $5 to $7 for 30 sheets. Not bad.

You can make more economical use of your paper too, if you first edit your pix as you want, put them into a document in word (arrange so they all fit on one sheet) and then print. I do a test print on regular paper first to make sure it all works. Then I do the "good" paper.

And I have an old Lexmark Z11 printer too. Works pretty well & saves trips to anywhere, except to get the paper.

I have a Kodak Easyshare with a Printer Dock and when I used it for tranfering and registering with AMHA this year

I used the Kodak Program to fit 3 PHOTOS on one 4x6 Photo Sheet

: and AMHA took them and it SAVED me Ink and Paper since the prints were smaller. I did not know if they would take them small like that .

I believe they ended up just under 3x3, however they did accept them with no problems and I sent a total of 2 4x6 sheets with 3 on each so there were plenty of photos. :bgrin

Just thought I would share this information with you all so those of you that have Printer Docks might save some time and money. :bgrin
