I sent in paperwork on December 18th and just got it back yesterday, saying I need pictures! I don't care how busy their office was in December, they can't play favorites, requiring picts from some people and not from others! I've talked with a couple big farms that did the same thing, only sent in their paperwork as last minute as Dec. 29th! And they were not required to send picts, in fact they got their paperwork back last month!!! :ugh: I am very angry about this and they will be hearing from me tomorrow. Hopefully I cool off a bit by then...

I sent paperwork in at the end of December and they are presently working on it now. Sherry in the registration department told me that they are having a terrible time with computers right now; some days 2 or 3 have been down. They have also had trouble keeping the web site up. They are working to correct that.

On another thread I believe LindaL asked about registering a horse that already has AMHR parents. One of the pieces of work that I sent in was to do that. Sherry asked me to send in a breeders certificate signed by the breeder and a stallion report also signed by the breeder to her to complete the registration at the regular price, rather than the hardship price. She did not ask for a signed transfer, although I think I sent a copy of the AMHA transfer along with a copy of the AMHA papers.

I called AMHR last month asking if I needed pics for copies of temp. papers that I thought I had lost and I was told "yes" I had to have pics. So it's not only for new registrations.

Speaking of fuzzy pictures, I've got to do a transfer on one of our horses and he's a silver buckskin pinto. So in his winter wollies you can't even see his color or markings. What good are these pictures of him going to do them? If you do send in pictures you don't like can you change them later on? I know with APHA you can change the baby pic to an adult pic for a fee.

I believe that any kind of paper work, (transfers, temp. to perm. etc.) needs photos as of Jan 1, 2007.
I guess it needs to be verified from AMHR because the picture requrement article on their website ONLY mentions new registrations and nothing else. The transfer form says nothing about pictures, either.

I've held off doing a transfer as the horse is eligible to go perm next month and I wanted to take pictures of him after he's been clipped and I would do the transfer and temp to perm at the same time. I just need to find out if pictures are indeed required.
You must send in pictures for any paperwork , transfers, temp to perm or just Reg.. It will be updated on the stie to include this . It was a oversight when updating the info..

Thanks, Belinda!
