Our Anniversary is coming up on April 2

: . We never went on a honeymoon so I would like to go somewhere this year. Our kids are old enough now I feel comfortable leaving them with a sitter for the weekend. We would leave on Friday and come home on a Sunday. I would like to plan this and surprise him with it. I would like it to be within a 5 or 6 hour drive from Morgantown/Fairmont West Virginia. So anywhere in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky would be ok. I want to do this for him since he puts up with me and my horses and to get him away for a weekend of rest and relaxation, he is a contractor and works lots of hours during the week. There are times I joke with him when he comes home and ask him "who are you?"

: So any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Sherry

Darnit, you want to do this trip for HIM?! Guess that means the Kentucky Horse Park is out, huh?

Just teasing... although I don't have any better suggestions. Well, no matter where you go, have fun and Happy Anniversary (a little early)!

You didnt say what HIS interests are that would help us give some suggestions. Another thought is that it probably wont matter where you go just that you do. If he works all those hours he probably would just relish some quiet time for just the two of you no matter where it is. Happy Anniversary a few months early.

well dang i guess you guys dont want to visit here as wed just talk horses all weekend lol

but seriously hubby and i went to tn for a painting convention but had a fabulous time!! you can go to music row and go from bar to bar and see tons of bands for free!! It was so much fun even if you dont drink. Fabulous music and all the bars have signed old pictures of famous country music bands etc. Also theres that really fancy hotel there (having a moment and cant think of the name) the hotel alone is worth seeing and has free music and entertainment everynight.

My suggestion is Cape Hatteras NC. You can find everything you are looking for there from excellent food and dining, wonderful beaches to walk or (?) on and spend as little or as much as you want on

: accommodations they have five star hotels or simple motel rooms. This time of the year rates are good and you will not find it crowded. Trust me on this one.

Gatlinburg Tennessee is very romantic in the spring. It's all Alpine Country with much to do, old timey little shops, homemade candles and candy, things like that, the scenic drive and the wildflowers alone take your breath away. At night, the whole place is lit up with little white lights. Very nice.

His interests are camping, hunting, fishing, and work. He likes to build other people house's but so far ours is just a shell of one.

: This trips is just a get-a-way from home to relax and have some time for ourselves trip. We dont get to go out much because of his work. If we are lucky maybe once a year. I am a stay at home mom. We have a 7 almost 8 year old and a 3 year old. There are times when I need am ready to pull my hair out and take the first slow boat to China. I have looked at the resorts in the Pocono's, I have looked at hotels in Lancaster, Pa. I have also looked at cabins in Pigeon Forge, Tn. I just want to go somewhere where its me and him and no phones (well except for a cell in case of emergency's ONLY!) and no television! Geese I get the point about NC.. only thing is my husband doesnt care for the beach. Hmm maybe I could compromise and go deep sea fishing with him while we were there??? Thats an idea.. oo yeah and Geese whats the (?) supposed to mean???
