well lets see yesterday was my birthday and I woke up to hubby informing me I had lambs......big mama finally popped and had 4 but one is probably not going to make it...he aspirated and has a horrible rattle when he breathes and keeps crashing......so looks like just the triplets 2 girls and 1 boy...............will try for pics on the weekend....one of my other litter producing ewe's looked darn close last night but was still holding out on me this morning.................so I am stuck at work worrying about her.............until I can farm full time I just have to deal with the fact that there may be some losses...........anyway I am totally wiped out and only have 8 ewe's to go...................

and I cannot really have a neighbor etc....keep an eye on them as sheep get very wiggy about strangers...so it is my son on afternoon duty...hubby does the early AM check and I handle all the other except the 10 hr's I am gone for work.....so far none of my sheep have ever lambed between 8 AM and 7 PM ...........they seem to like the 4:30-7:00 AM

Thanks everyone......I am sad to say we did lose the little one.......but in many ways better now than fighting and losing the battle later.............however the other three nuggets are doing great...and I am so surprised the other ewe did not go today...she is bursting he udder is grotesque it is so big......no pictures yet I have to wait till the weekend.......I am sooo glad tomorrow is friday...I am absolutely loopy...I tend to forget to eat when I am under stress and over tired....today I realized I hadn't eaten much more than a couple pb&j for two days...yes dinner is cooking now so I will eat and maybe have more lambs by morning......there are 3 others as well that could go anytime now.........and for ruffntuff

if you want comedy just call me and try to understand what I am saying :bgrin :bgrin :bgrin my family is convinced I am officially the cranky babbling idiot to be avoided at all costs :new_shocked: :bgrin :bgrin

OK news for the day......

4 am I delivered a nice set of twins

almost exactly 12 hours later 4 pm my 14 yr old son delivered another nice set of twins...and was totally panicked as one of the potential litter producing ewe's "is getting ready to go"......got home she was holding but definately pre labor......I just got done delivering a set of twins and number one was plugging things up as he had a leg back........I promise to try and get pics this weekend and post as the size difference in my two types of lambs is pretty funny :bgrin very tired after 3 lambings a full 10 hr day at work and now I am waiting on placenta and nursing.......just discovered this last set's mom appears to only have one functioning teat

Anxiously awaiting pictures here too. We had sheep when I was a kid (no pun intended) and the lambs are absolutely darling. But then I guess that can be said about a "baby" anything.
