Whitney Houston died today at age 48- what a shame.

Very sad day. Pre-drugs, I don't think there is anyone that could even touch her vocals. Her National Anthem is still the best one I have ever heard.

Yeah-- just read it. Her music will remain legendary. Its a shame she had to go out how she did.

So sad. The girl had some pipes and was gorgeous. I wish she could have stayed away from the toxic relationship that started her spiral down.

She had a voice from heaven. Unfortunately fame, fortune and drugs killed her. What a shame.

The World has lost one of the most beautiful, powerful voices ever! I've missed hearing her the last few years. What a shame a Mother lost her daughter and a daughter lost her Mother.

This tragidy really hits home with me, I was watching Good Morning America this morning and Robin Roberts said the exate same statement that I made yesterday. Whitneys daughter was hopitalized yesterday from the stress of this, and my own Mother died of heart failure at the age of 58 simply because she took valium and drank scotch. One of my daughters, (I have four) uses XANAX. On the news this morning they stated that she had XANAX and valium pill beside the tub and was also drinking alcohol. So many famous people dieing from prescription drugs, what is wrong with some of these doctors? I also lost my nephew las summer to prescription drugs, his mother will never get over it! such a shame to die so young.

I wish she could have stayed away from the toxic relationship that started her spiral down.
From what I've read and heard, her substance abuse problems began long before she met Bobby Brown. I'm not saying he's exactly an upstanding citizen, but we can't lay the blame on him.

This is a tragedy, plain and simple, no matter who, if anyone, is to blame.
