Another Purchase...this time a Thoroughbred

I have officially purchased my first riding horse! I have ridden for about 8 years or more, and I got my first mini about 5 years ago, and I have definately missed the riding aspect before the minis. I was looking around for a while and I finally found the perfect match!

I ended up finding this thoroughbred gelding, named Parker

He was a race horse when he was younger, and then he became a english show horse on the A circuit. After his english career, he was used for barrel racing/reining-that kind of thing. For the past 2 months, he has been doing clicker training. This boy is definately a "been there done that" kinda of boy, which I am very happy with. I am sure he can teach me so much more than I already know about riding, and I am very excited to have him home.

It will be neat to see what he thinks of all my minis! Parker is 16.2 hh

, and a total gentleman.

I adore him!! He has a very elegant look to him, thats for sure. I love the shot with the "smile".. to cute! Our riding horse is a 16.1 APHA w/ TB on his top side.. and I'm telling you, you dont find them like him very often and seems you could have found his brother. CONGRATS.. I know you are very happy and proud, which you should be!! Keep us updated on him!!! Can't wait till spring to see pics of you and him riding!!

Parker is a handsome boy!!

I have a almost 15 yr old(in April) thoroughbred ( Suman) he was a racer in his day too!!

It was cool when I bought him -getting his papers that showed races he won and how much and also when he was claimed and for how much!! Someone paid alot of money for him in his day. I got lucky to get him older and dead broke like I wanted and inexpensive...
