I think the only Portia Sue I have heard of is the judge....And her name is Portia Sue Kalinka..I think thats how you spell it.. Not sure if thats who or not. But yeah I hope someone else might know...

She was a judge atleast up till 2002 And I just found a website with a phone number so I will call it, Hopefully she can assist,

Oh geeze It just keeps getting better. Th emare we bought has all the stuff signed over to us with a gals siggie, then I JUST yesterday noticed that on the registration Portia was the last registered owner.

Well I then got looking closely at the papers and realized theres no seal on the picture.

So I called AMHA and Portia did transfer the horse to the OTHER gal who signed my stuff, HOWEVER that gal gave me a COPY of her registration NOT the real one.

So I CAN'T transfer my mare without contacting this oTHER gal, Who i just tried to call and guess what the phone number disconnected. :no:

So Now WHAT ???

I forgot to add, I would like to find a form to request a duplicate registration, I want to send it WITH the certified letter asking her to fill it out and send back I will cover ALL costs.

How would i get that form is it somewhere on the AMHA site???

I would contact Portia Sue if she is still the last registered owner. She may be able to help you get a duplicate set of papers anyhow, since 'legally' the horse still belongs to her as far as the registry goes. I wonder if the seller ever actually got the papers from Portia Sue, or sent you a copy because that was all she had? I hope that she paid Portia for the mare and there was not another problem? Portia will be able to tell you anyhow...

Well I have left a message for Portia, BUT since then I called AMHA again the mare was transfered from Portia to Cindi so Cindi HAS the original papers.

Ive had the mare for some time, papers were like ahh well do it later, I dont show or breed normally, BUT when her filly arrived a total surprise to us, we decided we better register her, well we waited a yr on the filly cause of her wacky color and now have had dad DNA'd so were ready to do mom when I realized the certificate wa sNOT real.

So I guess legally i will have no recourse either, I just dont know,
