Looks like I'm the only one still up this evening... :lol:

Am wondering, anyone know a good remedy for a sty in one's eye. It started yesterday like a pimple type of deal...on the outside lover lid of my left eye. Now it's gotten bigger and it hurts. Do people go to the doctor's for these things? Can't remember the last time I ever had one...but it's not pretty!! :no:

They sell a cream at the pharmacy for that.

I used to get those at times when I was younger, and all I ever did to help relieve it was to soak a hot compress on it. Sure glad I don't get them any more!

My hubby used to get them all the time. He bought the cream and it works pretty well but it blurs the vision for a while.

Something that he used to do to help was take a washcloth and wet it down with hot water. Put that on the area that the sty is and keep it there until it's cold. The more that you do that, the sooner it'll come to a head and you can actually pop it like a pimple

Also, when you're in the shower, wash your eye lids and lashes with baby shampoo. It's helped him a lot and I don't think he's had a sty since he's been doing that.

Hot water. Steep a tea bag in the hot water and use the sopping wet tea bag as a hot compress. I don't know about stys, but this works well to clear & heal eyes in dogs and horses. A trick I learned in Ireland.

Yep done the hot water tea bag for a couple of different things -never tried it on a stys, it is worth a try!

Thanks Jane ...I did'nt know that. Glad I did'nt use my herbal peach tea....my eye would've smelled good but it would still look pretty bad!!

I had one of those when I was a kid........I remember my Mom boiling water

for a boric acid eye wash. It must have worked cause it's not there anymore LOL

My farrier swears by Earl Grey tea tags for eye issues in horses, like when they get

runny eyes in the summer from all the dust......

Hey Nancy.....yea it's still there....but I am still doing the hot compresses, and I'm snowed in today. I think next week I need to go out to the drug store and stock up on some items. LOL...I'm glad your sty is gone now tho! :lol:
