I am trying to figure out how this will work and wether or not I need to get somebody to help me out.

I am trying extreamly hard for this job, if I get it it will be an 11 to 7 job. Thus me not home at night, and of coarse when do almost all minis like to foal..........

The only other person here will hopefully be with child by then. Due anywhere from April on, My mares are due starting Feb(accidental breeding way to early) but most of them are due in May.

Do you think the other person will be up to foal watch or should I be looking into hireing somebody to help me out if I get this job?

I have no experience.. though I'd take it as it comes.. my gut says to at least have the assistance of another shall the unexpected arrive..

Best wishes!

My partner and I are also planning on children.. I get to go first.. yay me?! Eh?! It is not for a few years though.... but we are excited..

I was preggers last season. I was anywhere from 4-7 months along. It wasn't SO bad BUT because I was tired already I was that much more tired if I had to be out in the barn late at night. It really wasn't so bad. It also depends on her and how the pregnancy is going too.

Good luck... I think you'll be fine though.

My plan is to hopefully have foaling cammeras in place by then so there is no running to the barn. That way she can lay in bed and watch the tv.

Also all the experianced mares have never had a foaling problem, but I do have two maiden mares comeing in next year. One is smaller then I have ever delt with and is my sons horse so I worry about her more.
