I second that request! I so wanted to go, but I just couldn't work it out - lights on the trailer are out, chores to do, etc. Decided to spend the day with the horses I do have instead of bringing home a new one. Sigh...

BUMP

Surely somebody went?

I would be curious to know as well....Cheryl Belcher may know or have access to that info. as she was sending out emails promoting it. Maybe someone will post.

Tony was supposed to read pedigrees.... hopefully he'll see this and post! :aktion033:

It was a buyer's market and everyone who attended got some real bargains. The top seller was a pretty palomino pinto mare in foal that sold for $4,100. I bought her along with five other mares and fillies. There was a big rainstorm that made it difficult for people to get through Houston and some called asking to delay the start of the sale, which was delayed for forty-five minutes.

Someone counted the people there and said that there were only 94. Four people bought the majority of the horses, I think, and got some excellent buys. The Baer's did a very nice job with the sale and plan to make it a yearly event. They had cash doorprize drawings at the end of the sale for a total of $500.

We were there. Turn out was low I think partly because of the weather and the fact that this was the first time we have had an auction in this area. The Baers did a wonderful job organizing everything and Tony did his usual great job with the pedigrees. We bought 6 horses, 2 yearling mares, 2 bred mares, a 33 inch True Leopard Stallion, Cherokee Creek Chief Spotted Cloud to add spots to the herd and Lucky Four Wrangler Classic, a 27" black and white pinto stud to breed to our smaller mares. Wrangler is already hard at work! Had to outbid Tony for Wrangler. Sure was glad he had already bought 6 horses and had lots of great stallions at home! There were 63 horses in the sale. We did not keep a list of all of the prices. There were some PO's but the majority of the horses sold. Our new AMHA President and owner of MCC Farms, Felix Covington, was there and got lots of suggestions from those attending. I was lucky to buy a refined black and white filly that he brought to the sale. I think he is going to make a great president. :aktion033:
