I GO BACK TO MY ORTHO DOC ON MAY 2, CAN'T TAKE THIS PAIN ANY LONGER. 1 YEAR AGO MAY 18TH I HAD SURGERY DONE TO REMOVE ALL THE MENICUS, BUT HE GAVE ME THE OPTION TO TRY THAT TO HELP WITH THE PAIN OR GO AHEAD AND HAVE A KNEE REPLACEMENT DONE. WELL OF COURSE I OPTED JUST FOR THE CLEAN UP JOB. IT DID HELP THE PAIN FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS, THEN IT HAS GRADUALLY COME BACK TO WHERE NOW I CAN BARLEY WALK A LOT OF TIMES. OF COURSE HE TOLD ME THAT NO MORE SURGERY COULD BE DONE FOR 1 YEAR AFTER THE FIRST, TO MUCH CHANCE OF INFECTION. SO COMING UP ON A YEAR NOW. HOPING THAT THE MINIMAL EVASIVE KNEE REPLACEMENT CAN BE DONE ON ME. I AM WALKING ON BONE ON BONE WITH MY KNEE AND HE SAYS THAT IS WHY IT IS HURTING SO MUCH, ARTHRITIS HAS JUST DESTROYED IT.

HAVE YOU HAD THIS DONE OR KNOW OF SOMEONE THAT DID? WOULD THEY DO IT AGAIN, HOW SOON COULD THEY GO BACK TO WORK? I HAVE HEARD POSSIBLE 10 DAYS, WHERE AS THE OTHER KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY REQUIRES UP TO 6 TO 8 WEEKS. CAN'T AFFORD TO BE OFF WORK THAT LONG. HAVE TO WORK TO GET A PAYCHECK TO PAY BILLS AND FEED THE MINIS.

THANKS FOR ANY INFO.

That is something I would like to know too, as my bad one is my right knee which makes driving tough. I am not at the awful stage yet, but the dummy union where I worked approved a new contract that has only six months short term disability lifetime coverage, where we used to have two years. So the debate is, even though the pain isn't too bad yet, maybe doing it before the new policy goes into effect might make sense. I just don't know. Been putting off seeing ortho doc, need to call since i flunked physical therapy :new_shocked: and they want to do more..... need his approval to do so.
