My sister is throwing a baby shower for me in a few months and told me to pick out invitations I like, and a theme. I came across Dr. Seuss invitations I like that are much cheaper than having custom invitations printed, and they look like they would go good with Red and Yellow, which would be good for my family since you can get both red and yellow plates, cups, tablecloths etc at the dollar store. The baby is a boy. If anyone has any decorating ideas they would be helpful. I really like the invitations, but dont know if they will be able to find enough other stuff for decorations, games, etc. I have about a week to decide since she will need to start ordering stuff soon.

That could be fun! We are getting ready to do a Dr. Seuss theme at school, so maybe I can throw out some ideas you can adapt for the shower?

One of my favorite Seuss books is, "There's a Wocket in my Pocket." You could make little pockets out of decorated tag board by folding and cutting to hold any small treats or party favors.

You can always add some elephant decorations in too for "Horton Hears a Who."

For centerpieces, you might go to a paper supply store or craft store and try to find really crazy, zany twirls of paper or spirals that you can glue to small dowels and stick in some covered craft foam to give a real 3-D zig-zag crazy look. (Kind of hard to explain - I can see it in my head)

I don't know if you do any scrapbooking or not, but my favorite baby shower activity, instead of games, is to provide a bunch of paper, stickers, decorations, etc. and let each guest design a page for a scrapbook. Then you put them together and all you have to do is add pictures and you have a ready-made baby book! You could go with the Dr. Seuss theme on that if you wanted to.

Have fun and congratulations!

how about stars for their bellies , bright colors, twirley confetti, some Dr. Seuss books in with the table decoration. fun idea, I think you can even get a Dr Seuss cake pan to make a cake.

have fun

I would get a big round gold fish bowl and put 2 big gold fish in it as my table decoration ...offer it later as a prize

What a GREAT idea - I love it!! I wish I'd heard of this about 6 months ago, I would have loved to have let my shower guests do the creating for me
