I just bought some at TSC today since my 19yo gelding should probably be on it. I really like the fact that its not a sweet feed and smells and looks really good.

Does anyone on the forum use it and like the results they see are far as maintaining and gaining weight (like for winter) and their coat and hooves?

I am going to start putting my boys on it and I'm excited to see how they do on it.

I started Target on it after his second colic surgery in 2001 when he was 15 and lacking half his small intestines. I swear it helped keep him alive and in good condition until he died last year at age 25 so I think the nutrients must be easily absorbed. I also feed it to our young minis and our stallion - most everyone except the broodmares and the insulin resistant mare. I am switching the foals over to it now as they are being weaned. I spoke with a Nutrena nutritionist who confirmed that the Nutrena Senior and Junior feeds are similar and rather than buy another feed, the Senior would be just fine for the foals. I really like the idea of using a complete feed that is 14% protein - can't say enough good things about it!

Same here we use the neutrena senior, mare and foal, and safe choice! After we started using it our horses have shiny, healthy coats and my 22 year old paint mare has the senior and she looks like she's 15! It's miracle food and we have compared it to other top of the line grains and this one is the most complete! You won't be sorry!!

Also, my foal uses the mare and foal feed and she is so plump and healthy. Like I said, it's amazing!!!!

I used it for years on all my horses, stallions, mares, foals with no problems. I LOVE the Nutrena products.

Last year after yet another Nutrena price hike it got too expensive to feed and we switch over the Purina Miniature Horse and Pony and the horses are all doing great on it.
