Awww Lyn, he's beautiful! I love his name Absentee Ballot! Sure fits but Traveller will suit him fine. I hope they cam thru their adventure well with no injury, they look great!
Thank goodness they are home safe & sound!! What a edge-of-my-seat story & what a great happy ending......... does anyone else keep hearing that old song - "Won't You Please Come Home, Bill Bailey?" :bgrin Oh, and he IS a beauty!
BTW, we once had a very pregnant mare get out ....we had given up hopes of ever seeing her again. After about a week, she came walking up the road. I just happened to see her going by. She passed up our place & proceeded to the neighbor's backyard, where she gave us quite a time catching her. But she was fine. She never did explain where she had been!!
Oh they are beautiful!! I am so glad that your story had a happy ending. I wasn't so lucky when my pregnant mare got out in March. She was out all night and got killed by a truck in the morning. I was there when she died. I was so worried and had many tears when I was reading your story. So very, very, very happy that all turned out well and I LOVE the name Traveler!!
Ohhh Lyn, I am so glad you got them both home and they are safely tucked in the barn, :aktion033: :aktion033: :aktion033: for a good rest. They both look great. CONGRATS ON A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE BOY
: , I bet this is one foal you will never foget a minute of, his first days of life. Corinne
Thank Heavens - I had a good feeling in my heart that everything would work out just fine - but my God that was the scariest thing that anyone could ever have gone through. He is just beautiful - and obviously Mom is a great Mom as she looked after him well during his travelling adventure. Thankfully no dogs or other animals came upon them - and your husband deserves a great big hug for really thinking about what to do in order to catch Bailey.
Wow.....Wow.........Wow - that is the best news I have heard for a long time. Tears of happiness running down my cheeks right now!!!!!!!!
Vet just left, they both checked out great. He has a little entropion but I will watch that... Only flips in on the blue eye, go figure. He is a spitting image of Chads first foal Michigans Shirley T, they will be bookends. So for this year my foaling season is over and Im planning on keeping both babies. Lilly didnt place at nationals but I had tons of excellent compliments on her and one sale pending but I couldnt do it. Balled my eyes out. Not exactly the way to make money in minis is it

Thanks again everyone from me, Bailey and little Traveler (Sp) is that right? Im so tired I cant remember. Going to have brunch and take a nap!
whewww. Lyn I was praying. I didn't get to post this morning, but wanted you to know that she and her foal were in my prayers. My oldest is in preschool now so I'm running the roads. I was able to check the forum real quick while eating and running out the door. And at the same time Jill Im'd me to see if I had looked at your post. I couldn't believe it. So thankful they are both safe.
What a cute colt! With a great full and barn name :aktion033: Glad to hear you have a healthy new boy. Now you should try and get a little rest while things are settled down.
