I've been interested in belly dancing for years and think I've found a place to sign up and take lessons at here: http://www.cleopatrasveil.com/

I'd love to hear your opinions, suggestions, experiences, etc.

I got interested in Belly Dance several years ago and found a place to take a few lessons. I drove about 2 hours to this place...did it twice and decided that DVDs would work just fine and dandy. I would really like to go back to it...just as soon as the fence and barn and new house and landscaping and....well...just asfter everything here is done.

I loved it and had a lot of fun!

I love bellydancing! I like to joke I'm so good at it that I can stand still and my belly can dance by itself. Heh. I have a couple of DVD's I do for exercise, I'm actually terrible at it but I think it is fun. With a belly as big as mine my belly dances whether I do or not, so I might as well enjoy it. lol.

I wish there was some place close with fun classes, not anything serious. I'm imagining a bunch of slightly overweight middle aged women bellydancing and laughing and having a good time. But the only place around here that has belly dance lessons has classes full of skinny little 20 somethings who take it really seriously and that would never work for me, lol!

I know someone here has or used to have a signature line that said "why walk, when you can belly dance" :bgrin

The gym I go to, has sporatic classes through the day and while they don't offer belly dancing, they just started last month with Zumba and it's a fun class, has a mix of belly dancing in it, mixed with a little native african dance or at least that's what it seems to me.

My belly dances if I sneeze or laugh too hard! :risa_suelos:

I think belly dancing is cool and I hear it's great for you.
