I would like to hear what type of digital camera's you recommend for action shots.

Seems whenever I take an action shot my pictures blur.......So Please tell me what you use, the name of the camera and how many Megapixels.......

Thanks! :saludando:

you would want something with a changable shutter speed. you can ask the people at the store. there are also cameras with a option that takes lots of photos in a row this might work for you as well. but a digtal SLR would be the best, any one they are lots of money though. ($1000+).

I am not neccessarily wanting one for Just "action" shots, but I see alot of pictures of horses running in the pen that are so clear, and mine usually tend to blur. Reasonably priced also!

I think you and I may be kind of wishing for the same kind of camera. I've only just started looking. I have what was a really nice digital camera a couple years ago (HP 812, 4.1 megapixels) but would like something better now.

I was hoping to find one that could take good action shots, but also zoom really well and I think the two things may not be found in the same digital camera (???).

Yesterday, I was looking at one of the Canon Rebels (think that's what it was, something Rebel) and liked it, but there you are with no good zoom. It was pricey, but I'd pay that for one that had both features.

Would love suggestions.

: you can buy differnt lenses for it, they control zoom.

for you i would suggest buying a used film 35mm camera with a high shutter speed, then you can take both still and action shoots. then buy a cheep scanner, and scan the photos on you computer. no matter what film is always better then digital.

I just got a Canon Rebel XT EOS for Christmas this past December. I LOVE it!!!!! My other digital Canon I have takes good pics but the action shots stunk!! And the shutter speed was slow. When I'd point by the time I'd shoot ...the moment had passed.

: What I love about it is I can take continuous action shots without missing a beat. Here's an example......

I really love my camera! It has changeable speeds and is great for all types of shots. It's a Canon A75. I highly recommend it!

If you want a really good SLR camera, I think this is the one. Over 50 different lenses you can add-on.

A75 good for a simpler camera (I have the older A70, love it). You can go to this site and do a little research, but I would recommend the Canon. They (IMO) have some of the latest technology.

Actually ... no, film is no longer always better than digital. I have both the Digital Rebel and the Digital Rebel XT. I also have a Rebel 2000 (film). I like the digital better than the film, both for the quality of shots and the flexibility of being able to edit the photos before I take them to print.

However, you need to get into that 8+ megapixel range before the photos are truly better than film.

Actually next on my agenda is a new/different lens....I want to get into taking night shots and of the moon and stars.

If you don't have them already, invest in a really good tripod and a remote shutter switch. You'll need both for night shots.

I have a Canon Rebel... It's an awesome camera.

Of course the lens that came with it wasn't that great, So i have since bought 2 more lenses for it.

The new one that is out now (Digital Rebel) is Effective pixels 8.0 million Sensor photo detectors 8.2 million

what i should have said is, in my opion not stated it as a fact, my bad. I love film, and i love digital, but film just does something extra for me. I should also remind you that scaning images for editing is also an option, one that i do all the time. I have to 35mm cameras with three lenses each, and one digital camera that is bottom of the line so-to-speek, i have seen images from thses 8+ megapixel cameras, to me it takes the challenge out of it, if every one could go out and take pictures with there digital cameras as well as famous photographers can, i would not strive to be a photographer. ...i'm babbaling...sorry go on :bgrin

Thats what I have....the digital rebel...I really need to sit down and read the manual some more...it's awesome....can do quite alot...but I still have to learn it.
