I went to the Blue Bonnet AMHA Katy TX show this past weekend. It was a 19 hour one way trip for me, but I made it. It was raining when I got there on Thursday and it either rained more or poured harder until I left on Monday morning. Ugh! Thinking it would be 80 and sunny- I was welcomed with lots of rain and 40-45 degree weather. All of us froze our butts off. The poor little horses were freezing to death- they literally stood in the ring shaking so hard, we had to reset their feet ever so often. I even wore my Carhart overalls in a few classes and others wore their winter down jackets. BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr.................. I met so many new people and everyone was so nice, they all were very appreciative I drove all that way to come down and show with them. Other than the wet and cold- IT WAS WORTH IT !!! I took my new little under 32" driving gelding- Finn/ his first real driving show and Dukey Doo's first all around show too. Well, my boys made me proud, Finn won his driving classes and I also found out he is a pogo stick, this little guy can jump! and jump HIGH! He was so much fun, he has such a big heart and tries so hard for me. And then Duke- what can I say about him but WOW! He went in all the all around classes for me and helped me win the Amateur High Point All Around title. I just wish I had purchased him 3 or 4 yrs ago. He is phenomenal, such a gentleman and gives me his best at everything. He was an amazing horse already in Halter, but now adding all the all around classes he is a one in a million gelding. I love him so much. So with saying that, I think I am headed back down to Glen Rose TX for their show in a week or two, but at least it is only 16 hours from home. And I hope it doesn't rain !!!!! Be safe to everyone out on the road and Happy Show Season !!!

Go check out the Photo Gallery- I just posted our Fort Worth Stock Show Photo !!!

WHAT???? I was standing right there !!!!! at the podium !!!! where my aluminum pen was. I was talking to the announcer and was talking to Franklin, they knew I was standing there. was it me? Cause I was right there !!!!

It was not me. they never announced who it was, cause they drew a back number and had to go and check the computer to who the back number belonged to. so NONE of us know who it was cause they never said, just the person wasn't there....

Wow, congratulations!!! Sounds like it was quite the ordeal, but fun all the same (or despite the challenges!)

about the cart. :DOH!

Well, I could have been mistaken about the cart. All I was wanting to do was get packed and get home. It was the most miserable show (weather wise) I have ever been to. Cold (mid 40's), windy and raining. It was 81 the day before and in the 70's by Tuesday afterward. I was cold and the horses were cold. Needless to say our performance was not great. However, a miserable day at a horse show is better than any thing else.

Congrats, Angela !!

I'm sure Levi is smiling and so glad you found a horse that you click with so well.

Dukey Doo is gorgeous and you have brought him along so quickly in the dead of winter in Colorado !!

Best of luck to you in 2009.
