I went to the Blue Bonnet AMHA Katy TX show this past weekend. It was a 19 hour one way trip for me, but I made it. It was raining when I got there on Thursday and it either rained more or poured harder until I left on Monday morning. Ugh! Thinking it would be 80 and sunny- I was welcomed with lots of rain and 40-45 degree weather. All of us froze our butts off. The poor little horses were freezing to death- they literally stood in the ring shaking so hard, we had to reset their feet ever so often. I even wore my Carhart overalls in a few classes and others wore their winter down jackets. BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr.................. I met so many new people and everyone was so nice, they all were very appreciative I drove all that way to come down and show with them. Other than the wet and cold- IT WAS WORTH IT !!! I took my new little under 32" driving gelding- Finn/ his first real driving show and Dukey Doo's first all around show too. Well, my boys made me proud, Finn won his driving classes and I also found out he is a pogo stick, this little guy can jump! and jump HIGH! He was so much fun, he has such a big heart and tries so hard for me. And then Duke- what can I say about him but WOW! He went in all the all around classes for me and helped me win the Amateur High Point All Around title. I just wish I had purchased him 3 or 4 yrs ago. He is phenomenal, such a gentleman and gives me his best at everything. He was an amazing horse already in Halter, but now adding all the all around classes he is a one in a million gelding. I love him so much. So with saying that, I think I am headed back down to Glen Rose TX for their show in a week or two, but at least it is only 16 hours from home. And I hope it doesn't rain !!!!! Be safe to everyone out on the road and Happy Show Season !!!
