We just missed this colt being born yesterday. We tested the mare's milk that morning at 10am. She tested 6.2ph so we left her turned out during the day and got her stall ready, wrapped her tail and just closely watched her. Ran inside the house for 15 min and missed it at 5:45 pm. Mama was already back up grazing. Mom and baby are both doing great. I do have a question about eye color though. Mama is chocolate palomino, dad is palomino. Both solid color, no paint. However, this little colt has one very blue eye. I am unsure of how this happens, just wondering if they usually will stay blue? I am hoping it does. He also has socks, but I am having a hard time telling exactly how many and how tall they are.
