ahhhh a nine year old with a brand new shiney drumset

oh and a 14 yr old with a gorgeous new bass guitar and amp......sounds like monster fest here

I watched Rocky Horror Picture Show - hehe, I love that movie.

Its fairly quiet, right now my brother is squeaking a dog toy, thats kinda annoying...

Actually it isn't as bad as it might be to others.......and my kids in their rooms making noise sure beats them being on the streets...or doing crack...or any other things they could be doing.....and he even has rythym occasionally

not long lasting but he has only had the drums for a day.......and his brother is actually dammmmm good even though he doesn't play drums....we have a neighbor who is helping them out as well.....and this was a very fun xmas for the boys and us and our neighbors...my sisters got a kick out of hearing them play as well......I will post pics as soon as I can get them uploaded.....

Oh and hubby finally gave me my bottle of brandy

eggnog is good but my stomach is gonna boycott big time tonite...

I'll trade ya Mukky!!! I can take musicians, even budding ones over my SIL's kids totally my house!! They have finally all gone home and it is mostly peaceful, hubby and musician brother are watching music videos up loud but they are not trying to destroy the house, lol There were toys everywhere and total chaos and my SIL actually grumped at me cuz I was tidying up after gifts were opened because I was "being anal" ergggg!!! Just like to be able to move around a little. All full of turkey and stuff now, feeling sleeping but had forum withdrawals so I had to stop by and see what was going on hee hee

HEEHEE we went with ham ....so none of the turkey snoozefest here.....the boys loved their gifts and I am not joking when I say the drums have been going since they were all finished setting up at 2 ish......my other guy has been playing his bass working on some chords that the neighbor told him to prctice

scales in a blues style so all is good.......and actually it is far less annoying than them arguing

lets see dish washer is loaded and running the wrapping is all cleaned up and my house is 1/2 tidy......not a bad xmas if you ask me

Dan was about 12 when he insisted that I buy him a set of drums.

I said ok, fine.

But in return, he had to join the school band.

That cured it.

Both my kids like band but the drummer boy can't join till next year.....our family is very musical so it isn't too bad....I don't have a garage and the sheep won't share the barn.......we have our old travel trailer and will eventually clean it out and gut it for them to have a band room.....but until then they are in their rooms.....with doors closed

Yes TOYS that make noise are deadly sin number seven....however I console myself with the fact that these are legitamite instruments

yes at times I am delusional

OK day 3 I went to work left the boys home..... at one point they called and the AMP was cranked so high on the guitar that I am amazed we have windows left

ok so I resloved whatever issue they were having....my oldest son's friend who plays regular guitar both accoustic and electric had come over and they had a major jam session......the plus side I came home and my older guy had learned about 3 new chord sets.......thank you heavy metal gods......so now we have 2 heavy metal chord sets one blues set and one...hmmm I call it noise

........as for little drummer monkey.....he is actually getting a beat and able to keep it for more than 3 beats

but his favorite is still to go rock and roll chimp on crack through the kettles (okay whatever you call the three not bass or snare) and then finish with a nice cymbal..........

I am sure to many the idea of kids and drums sounds just awful and I suppose it could be but it still is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy less annoying than them fighting

oh and for the record I have played on them 3 times

I showed my little guy some snare drum stuff that I remember from way back when I was in band and had to play the dumb clarinet....man I wanted to play drums
